  1. If this is true, and I fucking hope it is, then I think this thread needs a title change.
  2. You know, reading through that thread, I noticed that both Dex's and Fuchikoma's bans from Joel said "see Community Guidelines", so I clicked on it. Such a fucking load of crap! And what a joke, too, considering that Joel is the only one in that thread that resorted to petty name-calling and insults. That guy is so fucking pathetic
  3. Just did a round of pre-orders. I wanted to place one for ICO/SotC Collection as well, but I'm still not sure how much money I'll have left at the end of the month after buying all my books and such, so it's on the waiting list Stupid physics class requires 2 damn books at about 50 bucks a piece edit: aw screw it, went for it Malicious, if you end up getting it as well, let's play some Spec Ops!
  4. Same here... It's the only COD I don't have. And at 15 bucks it's pretty damn tempting, even though it's the worst COD, imo.
  5. I can't comment on the comparison since I haven't played DA2, but the floors in Tartarus are randomly generated, so they all have a different layout and if you go through a previously cleared floor, it will be different. Though it's true that Tartarus is pretty much the same experience all the way through. You won't suddenly reach a floor that plays differently than the previous ones. But isn't this true of most dungeon crawlers, especially randomly-generated ones? Also, reading your post makes me wonder, how far along are you? Like, what's the highest Tartarus floor you've reached?
  6. Hey, I'm not proud of it What's stupid is.. I bought P3 and P4 at the same time about two years ago. Started P3 and played pretty much non-stop for about 2 weeks then sort of burned out and stopped. Then I once again started playing it a lot back in like february 2011, and after about a week I stopped again. I haven't touched it since, and I think I'm like 2 months (in-game) from the end of the story. I haven't started P4 because, well.. I need to finish P3 first
  7. Wait, is Aegis in Persona 4 as well as 3? Or will P3 characters also be in the fighting game? That'd be pretty cool! I really need to finish P3
  8. Ultima IV is currently free on GOG. Don't know if it's permanent, though, so might wanna grab it while you can.

Here, now the lazy ones have no excuse not to get it.

Awesome! Been yeaaaars! since I played an Ultima game...I can't even remember if I played IV.

  9. Just grabbed these two Mostly got the double pack for the Cthulhu game, as I hear it's awesome, but the other game doesn't look bad either. And Dredmor has intrigued me quite a bit ever since I read about how great it is both here and on PXOD itself. And, I mean, at five bucks it's no big loss if I don't like it. Also, I'm suddenly very intrigued by Dead Island. It seemed okay, but I wasn't planning on getting it anytime soon, if at all. But I just saw a video on IGN, they're calling it a "review preview", which is every bit as retarded as it sounds. But what caught my attention is that they're calling it "Fallout with zombies". It seems the game has heavy RPG elements and plays a lot like F3 and NV. They didn't say whether the game is any good, but if it gets good reviews, I'll seriously consider getting it.
  10. I have survived my first class! But I have to go back in about 3 hours and then once more tonight. Ugh, why did the semester have to start on thursday, i.e. my busiest day?!

  11. I played so much today that I had to stop just now because I was actually getting a bit sick of it I'm 14 hours in (in Hengsha) and so far I'm loving the hell out of it. I think so far my biggest disappointment is the music in Hengsha. The soundtrack is great overall. Very subtle and moody. But for Hengsha I was hoping for something more... memorable. Something a bit like this Probably won't be able to play tomorrow, though. Like, at all. Got class early in the morning, class in the afternoon and class in the evening. And another class early friday morning, so I won't have a lot of free time after my evening class... Though it's a bit fucked because normally there are work periods before or after the classes, so thursday is normally my busiest day. But since this is the first day, most classes won't have the work periods, so I'll be stuck with 2+ hours holes in-between. I'll probably end up coming back home between each class, which is about a 30-40 mins subway ride both ways. If my laptop was powerful enough, I'd install Human Revolution on it and find a quiet spot in the school library to play between classes
  12. Really tempted to pre-purchase Hard Reset on Steam, but I kinda wish I knew more about it...

I'm on the same boat. Particularly, I want to know how long it is.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, the developer has a pretty good pedigree considering it's mostly ex-People Can Fly and ex-CD Projekt RED. So it's not that much of a stretch to assume the game will be good. But at 30 bucks, I'm worried it's going to be like... 3 hours long.

I believe Giantbomb had a quick look of it. Looked interesting at least. Very dark, cyberpunky world.

Frankly, I never really understood all the hate for the ribbon in Office. It's perfectly functional. I don't know if windows explorer needed it, but it doesn't bother me that they're adding it.
  14. Isn't that coming out in september? Yeah, just looked it up and it's september 29, not august 29. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/witcher-2-version-2-0-arriving-september-29-included-in-xbox-36/
  15. Doesn't mean I have to rush through! If I play 10 hours today, and then 10 hours tomorrow... That's healthy... right?
  16. Listening to this while the game downloads. Only 2 and a half hours to go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiN6t7K7txw
  17. Better play as a shooty man then. Blasphemy! Hacking and stealth (with the occasional murder) is the true Deus Ex way!

How generous of you! Unfortunately I don't have a code since I bought it directly through Steam. Otherwise, I _totally_ would!

  19. My financial aid for the semester finally arrived, so yeah, I think you all know what that means All that's left to see is whether or not I can finish it before the semester starts (the day after tomorrow). Quickly now, Steam! Download like you've never downloaded before!
  20. Yeah, I was playing the Enhanced Edition. I heard horror stories about the original release...
  21. Yeah, it was actually Dean who mentioned the neutral option for the decision I was hesitating on in Chapter II. But starting in Chapter III, the game really does make it a point to insist that you get involved. I never really considered to be neutral about it from that point on, honestly. You know, at the very end of the game I picked up on that possibility when Also, the true Witcher way might be neutral, but with the way things turned out in the end, I overall feel like I made the right calls. Mostly I must be forgetting a few, but that's the big ones off the top of my head.
  22. Alright, so I finished the game tonight. Overall it was pretty good, but I thought it kinda sucked that Also,
  23. Very interesting thread considering I'm planning to apply for a computer science degree next year. My plan is to do the 3 years bachelor's degree in CS and then go for a one year degree on game design that my uni offers. There's also a new minor this year that focuses on video game study. Seems interesting enough, but it looks like it's more relevant if you're aiming to become a critic rather than working in the industry. So I'm not yet sure if it's worth adding another year for it.
  24. Quick! Someone tar and feather him! edit: oh well, just finished The Witcher. It's pretty good, but it could've been truly great if it wasn't so goddamned unstable. I was getting an average of 40 fps when it ran properly, but there were times I'd load a save and would get about 10 fps. Reloading the same save never did anything, so whenever that happened I was forced to load an earlier save (though I later realized than the issue could be fixed by alt-tabbing out and back in). Thankfully the game never overwrites, so there's plenty of older saves to choose from. Of course, once you reach 200+ saves, the loading menu takes a good minute to come up, so that's kind of annoying. And then there's the main area of Chapter III. It never ran at 30 FPS. Usually closer to 20. Thankfully it's mostly conversations and running around when you're there, but still, that's no excuse. From what I read online, it's because there's too many NPCs in that area. Their AI is supposedly very CPU-intensive and the game apparently isn't optimized for multicores so.... yeah
