  1. Well he's old and he took his sweet ass time writing the last few books, so... who knows what could happen.
  2. Glad to see I'm not the only one who can't stand Sansa Man, that had to suck for people who had been waiting since 2005 for the damn book to come out. I'm almost afraid to get up to date on this series. What if I take less than 10 years to read books 3 through 5?! I'll have to wait years for George R.R. Martin to finish book 6 and then he's probably going to die in the middle of writing book 7. Probably gonna choke on a taco, or something equally ridiculous, too! You know, just to spite everyone.
  3. I knew the plot was split for book 4/5 and that some characters weren't in 4 but I didn't know who and now that I do, holy shit O_O To have both Jon AND Tyrion not be in the book at all... That's just evil Tyrion and Jon chapters are my most looked-forward-to chapters in the books! The drive to get to the next ones is what gets me through the chapters of characters I don't give a shit about. Like Sansa.
  4. Hard Reset demo is finally out! Of course, now that I bought some shirts and school books, I can't afford to pre-order if it turns out to be awesome. But still, can't wait to give it a shot.

Oh great. Now you've reminded me that I never played Doom 2.

THANKS FOR THE NEW ADDITION TO MY BACKLOG JOHNNY >:|

@RockyRan: Yes! I love those panels, soo seamless! I also like the enemy AI in it, so far good pathfinding and nice moves (like quick-strafe dodging). I'm also loving how smooth the actual aiming is too. The very fact that I went "Wow, this is nice, been a while" says a lot.

  5. Deus Ex: Human Revolution came so close to perfectly recreating what made the original great that it got me all nostalgic for that time about a decade ago when I first discovered both the original Deus Ex and the Thief series (it also sent my Thief 4 expectations through the damn roof). Much like Deus Ex, Thief 2 still ranks high among my favorite games of all time, so I decided it was time I finally played Thief: Deadly Shadows. Hell, I might even suck it up and finally play Invisible War all the way through once I'm done with Deadly Shadows!
  6. Had a 2 hours break between classes yesterday so I found myself a spot in the grass and started reading A Storm of Swords. Watching the tv show only 2 weeks ago probably helped, but it sucked me right back in from the very first page. Of course, now I'm fucked if I want to remember how I originally pictured the characters. The actors have completely overwritten my imagination. I seriously need to read that Clash of Kings recap, though. I realized while watching the show that I remember very little of it, and starting Storm made that all the more painfully clear. A chapter started, and when they referred to something that had happened in the previous book, I went "Wait, what? That happened?!" It's weird but I remembered book 1 much more clearly than book 2, and I read them about 3 and 2 years ago respectively. Oh well, done with school for the day and I've got another 2 hours break tomorrow, so I better get started on that recap.
  7. Oh what the hell... PC froze while I was playing MW2 and now I lost all my campaign progress. How the fuck does something like that even happens?!

Actually it was more like 2 hours. So... a third of the game? I was on the oil rig level.

And of course there doesn't seem to be a cheat to unlock all the levels to start from where I was >_<

I can probably send you over a save file if that's possible. Away from my computer until tomorrow night, but if it's possible I'd be happy to send you a save of the game after the sub mission.

That could be worth looking into. Of course, that's if I don't end up just sucking it up and starting over. Only got class in the morning tomorrow, so I'll be free most of the day.

Also, just found out that the game actually uses SteamCloud. Isn't that system meant to prevent shit like this from happening?

  8. Another evening, another Marvel movie. The Incredible Hulk, this time. Don't know why I took so long to watch it, but it was pretty good. Was it supposed to be a reboot, though? It seems to pick up where Ang Lee's Hulk left off with Banner on the run in south america. Kind of annoying that they've recast Banner for Avengers, though, as this one is clearly meant to be a part of the same continuity.
  9. Deus Ex: Human Revolution. Overall it was pretty great. I don't think it quite reached the bar set by the first one, but it was definitely worthy of the Deus Ex name. I thought the first half was better than the second half, though. Story wasn't as conspiracy-heavy as I'd hoped, but it was still good enough. I could probably come up with a few more minor complaints, but for now I'll leave it as that and think on it for a while. If I have anything to add I'll post in the Deus Ex thread.
  10. Watched X-Men: First Class tonight. Holy. Shit. I can't get over how insanely fucking GOOD it is! I thought that the first two Spider-Man and X-Men movies were good, but they just don't compare to First Class. I also used to think that Nolan's batfilms were in a class of their own. But I believe First Class ranks just as high. I almost wish it was a reboot rather than a prequel so they could build a new X-Men movieverse from it. Though I did get a good laugh out of . Oh and fuck Ian McKellen. Michael Fassbender IS Magneto. He just nails it.
  11. Finally watched Thor last night. It was very enjoyable, though it kinda bugged me a bit that basically nothing happens in it. I mean, there is very little story to speak of beyond Thor's character arc. It can basically be summed up as Though I did enjoy the cameo about halfway through (not Stan lee's...) It does work as an introduction to the character and set up for The Avengers, though. But other superhero movies like the first two Spider-Man, the first two X-Men and even the Iron Man series felt like they had so much more going on in them. I like what Marvel are doing with their movie continuity, but I feel like this movie was nothing more than a stepping stone to Avengers instead of its own thing that also leads up to it. Hopefully Captain American doesn't suffer from this as much.
  12. Was going to post the sword vs gun scene from Raiders of the Lost Ark, but after it was all typed up I went back just in case, and sure enough someone had already posted it So now I must think of something else! Oh! I know! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bL_8Ugp9zI4 This is probably my number 1 guilty pleasure movie. I know it's terrible, but I can't help it. I just fucking love it.
  13. Almost done! Only about 1 GB to go!
  14. If this is true, and I fucking hope it is, then I think this thread needs a title change.
  15. You know, reading through that thread, I noticed that both Dex's and Fuchikoma's bans from Joel said "see Community Guidelines", so I clicked on it. Such a fucking load of crap! And what a joke, too, considering that Joel is the only one in that thread that resorted to petty name-calling and insults. That guy is so fucking pathetic
  16. Just did a round of pre-orders. I wanted to place one for ICO/SotC Collection as well, but I'm still not sure how much money I'll have left at the end of the month after buying all my books and such, so it's on the waiting list Stupid physics class requires 2 damn books at about 50 bucks a piece edit: aw screw it, went for it Malicious, if you end up getting it as well, let's play some Spec Ops!
  17. Same here... It's the only COD I don't have. And at 15 bucks it's pretty damn tempting, even though it's the worst COD, imo.
  18. I can't comment on the comparison since I haven't played DA2, but the floors in Tartarus are randomly generated, so they all have a different layout and if you go through a previously cleared floor, it will be different. Though it's true that Tartarus is pretty much the same experience all the way through. You won't suddenly reach a floor that plays differently than the previous ones. But isn't this true of most dungeon crawlers, especially randomly-generated ones? Also, reading your post makes me wonder, how far along are you? Like, what's the highest Tartarus floor you've reached?
  19. Hey, I'm not proud of it What's stupid is.. I bought P3 and P4 at the same time about two years ago. Started P3 and played pretty much non-stop for about 2 weeks then sort of burned out and stopped. Then I once again started playing it a lot back in like february 2011, and after about a week I stopped again. I haven't touched it since, and I think I'm like 2 months (in-game) from the end of the story. I haven't started P4 because, well.. I need to finish P3 first
  20. Wait, is Aegis in Persona 4 as well as 3? Or will P3 characters also be in the fighting game? That'd be pretty cool! I really need to finish P3
  21. Ultima IV is currently free on GOG. Don't know if it's permanent, though, so might wanna grab it while you can.

Awesome! Been yeaaaars! since I played an Ultima game...I can't even remember if I played IV.

  22. Just grabbed these two Mostly got the double pack for the Cthulhu game, as I hear it's awesome, but the other game doesn't look bad either. And Dredmor has intrigued me quite a bit ever since I read about how great it is both here and on PXOD itself. And, I mean, at five bucks it's no big loss if I don't like it. Also, I'm suddenly very intrigued by Dead Island. It seemed okay, but I wasn't planning on getting it anytime soon, if at all. But I just saw a video on IGN, they're calling it a "review preview", which is every bit as retarded as it sounds. But what caught my attention is that they're calling it "Fallout with zombies". It seems the game has heavy RPG elements and plays a lot like F3 and NV. They didn't say whether the game is any good, but if it gets good reviews, I'll seriously consider getting it.
  23. I have survived my first class! But I have to go back in about 3 hours and then once more tonight. Ugh, why did the semester have to start on thursday, i.e. my busiest day?!

  24. I played so much today that I had to stop just now because I was actually getting a bit sick of it I'm 14 hours in (in Hengsha) and so far I'm loving the hell out of it. I think so far my biggest disappointment is the music in Hengsha. The soundtrack is great overall. Very subtle and moody. But for Hengsha I was hoping for something more... memorable. Something a bit like this Probably won't be able to play tomorrow, though. Like, at all. Got class early in the morning, class in the afternoon and class in the evening. And another class early friday morning, so I won't have a lot of free time after my evening class... Though it's a bit fucked because normally there are work periods before or after the classes, so thursday is normally my busiest day. But since this is the first day, most classes won't have the work periods, so I'll be stuck with 2+ hours holes in-between. I'll probably end up coming back home between each class, which is about a 30-40 mins subway ride both ways. If my laptop was powerful enough, I'd install Human Revolution on it and find a quiet spot in the school library to play between classes
