  1. Really tempted to pre-purchase Hard Reset on Steam, but I kinda wish I knew more about it...

I'm on the same boat. Particularly, I want to know how long it is.

Yeah, exactly. I mean, the developer has a pretty good pedigree considering it's mostly ex-People Can Fly and ex-CD Projekt RED. So it's not that much of a stretch to assume the game will be good. But at 30 bucks, I'm worried it's going to be like... 3 hours long.

I believe Giantbomb had a quick look of it. Looked interesting at least. Very dark, cyberpunky world.

Frankly, I never really understood all the hate for the ribbon in Office. It's perfectly functional. I don't know if windows explorer needed it, but it doesn't bother me that they're adding it.
  3. Isn't that coming out in september? Yeah, just looked it up and it's september 29, not august 29. http://www.joystiq.com/2011/08/17/witcher-2-version-2-0-arriving-september-29-included-in-xbox-36/
  4. Doesn't mean I have to rush through! If I play 10 hours today, and then 10 hours tomorrow... That's healthy... right?
  5. Listening to this while the game downloads. Only 2 and a half hours to go http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZiN6t7K7txw
  6. Better play as a shooty man then. Blasphemy! Hacking and stealth (with the occasional murder) is the true Deus Ex way!
  7. LET THE HUMAN REVOLUTION BEGIN!

How generous of you! Unfortunately I don't have a code since I bought it directly through Steam. Otherwise, I _totally_ would!

  8. My financial aid for the semester finally arrived, so yeah, I think you all know what that means All that's left to see is whether or not I can finish it before the semester starts (the day after tomorrow). Quickly now, Steam! Download like you've never downloaded before!
  9. Yeah, I was playing the Enhanced Edition. I heard horror stories about the original release...
  10. Yeah, it was actually Dean who mentioned the neutral option for the decision I was hesitating on in Chapter II. But starting in Chapter III, the game really does make it a point to insist that you get involved. I never really considered to be neutral about it from that point on, honestly. You know, at the very end of the game I picked up on that possibility when Also, the true Witcher way might be neutral, but with the way things turned out in the end, I overall feel like I made the right calls. Mostly I must be forgetting a few, but that's the big ones off the top of my head.
  11. Alright, so I finished the game tonight. Overall it was pretty good, but I thought it kinda sucked that Also,
  12. Very interesting thread considering I'm planning to apply for a computer science degree next year. My plan is to do the 3 years bachelor's degree in CS and then go for a one year degree on game design that my uni offers. There's also a new minor this year that focuses on video game study. Seems interesting enough, but it looks like it's more relevant if you're aiming to become a critic rather than working in the industry. So I'm not yet sure if it's worth adding another year for it.
  13. Quick! Someone tar and feather him! edit: oh well, just finished The Witcher. It's pretty good, but it could've been truly great if it wasn't so goddamned unstable. I was getting an average of 40 fps when it ran properly, but there were times I'd load a save and would get about 10 fps. Reloading the same save never did anything, so whenever that happened I was forced to load an earlier save (though I later realized than the issue could be fixed by alt-tabbing out and back in). Thankfully the game never overwrites, so there's plenty of older saves to choose from. Of course, once you reach 200+ saves, the loading menu takes a good minute to come up, so that's kind of annoying. And then there's the main area of Chapter III. It never ran at 30 FPS. Usually closer to 20. Thankfully it's mostly conversations and running around when you're there, but still, that's no excuse. From what I read online, it's because there's too many NPCs in that area. Their AI is supposedly very CPU-intensive and the game apparently isn't optimized for multicores so.... yeah
  14. Oh shit, yeah. If Ubisoft keep ignoring it I'm going to get angry.
  15. Don't really shop at Gamestop myself, so I don't have any stories. But I was wondering about one thing. If someone walks in to buy a new game, you give an already opened copy from the back and he asks for a sealed one, assuming you have any, what are you instructed to do in such a situation?
  16. Finally started watching this. Only on episode 3 so far, but holy shit is everything perfect (well, except for Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo... ) The only thing that bugs me a bit is things seem to be moving way too fast, but that's inevitable when trying to condense such a long book into 10 hours, I guess. Once I'm done watching, I think I'll have to finally get back to the books. It's been like two years since I read A Clash of Kings, though. Probably gonna have to read a summary on wiki to refresh my memory.
  17. This is just awesome. For those unfamiliar with it, Coast to Coast AM is a radio talk show about conspiracies and such and callers are generally complete nuts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biqnL84l85s
  18. I posted this in a status yesterday, but it quickly got buried under the swarm of PSAs, so I'll just leave it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHY5eTjB5Cw
  19. HAAHAHAHAHAA Revan, for a second there I actually thought you were Cyber Rat until I read the last line and looked at the avatar edit: ah, I see Joel's been added to the poll. Changed my vote to him for least favorite because he had none and that just didn't seem right.

  21. I wanted to join in when I got the event pop up, but the game wasn't installed and I eventually forgot about it altogether :/ But at least now it's installed and ready to play for next time.
  22. A friend of mine knows some people in the local (Montreal) industry, and apparently because they were over-budget and behind schedule, Eidos Montreal's fate depends on how well Human Revolution sells If sales aren't satisfying, they are closing. I know that's just how business works, but still... with the reviews the game is getting, I can't help but feel like Square Enix is missing the big picture here... Killing an obviously talented western studio that didn't sell as well as hoped might make sense in the immediate future, but it seems like looking ahead it's more likely to go up than down if they just stick with it regardless of sales.
