  1. Oh shit, yeah. If Ubisoft keep ignoring it I'm going to get angry.
  2. Don't really shop at Gamestop myself, so I don't have any stories. But I was wondering about one thing. If someone walks in to buy a new game, you give an already opened copy from the back and he asks for a sealed one, assuming you have any, what are you instructed to do in such a situation?
  3. Finally started watching this. Only on episode 3 so far, but holy shit is everything perfect (well, except for Jason Momoa as Khal Drogo... ) The only thing that bugs me a bit is things seem to be moving way too fast, but that's inevitable when trying to condense such a long book into 10 hours, I guess. Once I'm done watching, I think I'll have to finally get back to the books. It's been like two years since I read A Clash of Kings, though. Probably gonna have to read a summary on wiki to refresh my memory.
  4. This is just awesome. For those unfamiliar with it, Coast to Coast AM is a radio talk show about conspiracies and such and callers are generally complete nuts. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=biqnL84l85s
  5. I posted this in a status yesterday, but it quickly got buried under the swarm of PSAs, so I'll just leave it here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tHY5eTjB5Cw
  6. HAAHAHAHAHAA Revan, for a second there I actually thought you were Cyber Rat until I read the last line and looked at the avatar edit: ah, I see Joel's been added to the poll. Changed my vote to him for least favorite because he had none and that just didn't seem right.

      I DON'T KNOW WHAT WE'RE YELLING ABOOOOOUUUUUTT!

  8. I wanted to join in when I got the event pop up, but the game wasn't installed and I eventually forgot about it altogether :/ But at least now it's installed and ready to play for next time.
  9. A friend of mine knows some people in the local (Montreal) industry, and apparently because they were over-budget and behind schedule, Eidos Montreal's fate depends on how well Human Revolution sells If sales aren't satisfying, they are closing. I know that's just how business works, but still... with the reviews the game is getting, I can't help but feel like Square Enix is missing the big picture here... Killing an obviously talented western studio that didn't sell as well as hoped might make sense in the immediate future, but it seems like looking ahead it's more likely to go up than down if they just stick with it regardless of sales.
  10. New Atlus JP teaser site. http://p-atlus.jp/ Persona, anyone?

I predict P4 Portable for 3DS and Vita. It's P4 because of the yellow/black and also because Atlus would LOVE to have a new version of P4 out to cross promote with the anime coming soon. It'll be on the Vita because all the others were on the PSP, and it'll be on the 3DS because they've said SOMETHING persona is coming for the system and I really doubt it's P5.

Hahaha, I watched Pirates of Silicon Valley a few days ago and the movie portrays him as quite the abusive asshole as a boss. I was actually wondering how much (if any) of it was true.
  12. I played the demo last night. I wanted this to be good, but I certainly did not expect such a competent action game from a developer known for its RTS titles. Also, for some reason, I thought the game looked amazing. Like, the graphics are pretty enough but mostly it's the scale of everything that struck a chord with me. For example, when you first see the huge crane in the first level of the demo, it's simply humongous and it's right above you. I mean, it's not like it's the first game to have huge buildings in it, but for some reason here it seemed more impressive than it should. Probably because of the art style, I guess.
  13. Finally finished Chapter II earlier and started Chapter III. Is it normal that the framerate is so fucking shit in the Trade Quarter? We're talking a constant 20 here. Sometimes it even suddenly drops and the game sorta of half-freezes for a second. That only happened once in the Temple Quarter, and reloading a previous save fixed it. But now it's really only happening in that area. It's fine when I enter a building or when I return to the Temple Quarter. Also, I just fucking love how it's all grey sky and rain in the Temple Quarter but sunshine and blue sky in the Trade Quarter. Great attention to detail, there. Doesn't kill immersion one bit
  14. They made Battlefront 3 it just got canned. Also, all Star Trek games stink. Must be some sort of curse by George Lucas. I think he allowed Elite Force to be good as an ironic joke since it's Voyage. Please explain to me how George Lucas has anything to do with a Star Trek game.
  15. IGN haven't put up the PC review yet because apparently they didn't get the final build and instead got an earlier buggy one for some reason. I'm not sure how that stopped them from copy-pasting the same review across all three platforms like they usually do, but whatever. What bugs me is, 1) why the hell didn't they get the final/gold build? and 2) did anyone else get it?
  16. I've been playing The Witcher. So far I'm loving the hell out of it. I'm pretty sure I'm nearing the end of Chapter II and I've been told it really picks up in Chapter III, so I'm looking forward to that.
  17. Finally watched The Social Network tonight. I thought it was excellent. I'll have to grab the bluray at some point.
  18. Ah okay, and yeah, now that you mention it, Geralt did say something about not getting involved the first time I ran into consequences from a past decision. It's nice to know that the game tracks more than just the obvious decision moments, though. Can't wait to see what kind of impact everything will have later on. Actually, I think I'll go play in a bit Oh and I was wondering, is there any kind of save import feature to Witcher 2 like Mass Effect does, or are the two games mostly self-contained when it comes to choices and consequences?
  19. I'm starting to see what you guys meant by "slow to start". I played Chapter I pretty much in one sitting, so regardless of the pacing, it was still fun because what little story there was actually moved forward and came to a conclusion pretty quickly. But it was a bit irritating to start Chapter II and realize I basically had to start over and do the same thing, only in a different area. I ended up playing a lot less over the past few days. Today I soldiered on and made some good progress, so now it's starting to become interesting again, but for a while there it was a bit meh. Also, at the point I am right now, I have to make a decision and I have fucking no idea what to do! That's pretty damn awesome. It sure as hell is a welcome change from all the binary morality systems found in games like inFAMOUS and Mass Effect. Only problem is I'm sorta stuck because of that If anyone's curious, here is my quandary: I think it's great that a game asks me to make such a difficult decision, but it's kinda hard not to think of it in terms of "which option will be less troublesome for me down the line".
  20. Not at all. That looks very interesting and I'd never heard of it, so I'm glad you brought it up. Heh, now I kinda feel like elaborating on Sucker Punch but I was already trying not to write a damn wall of text review last night so I'll just leave it at what I've already said
  21. I'm a bit surprised to be posting this here instead of the crap movies thread, but I watched Sucker Punch tonight and, unlike what seems to be everyone on the whole damn internet, I did not hate it at all. I kept waiting for it to start sucking but it never did. I guess I can understand how the unusual mash-up of styles could be too much for some people, but that's what I loved most about it. At first I thought it kinda worked against the movie how disconnected with everything else the action sequences were. I mean, how are you supposed to care about what's going on on-screen when there is literally zero context for it? But as the movie went on I realized that what's brilliant about it is that there is no need for context because those scenes are freaking fantasies. Day-dreams. So being visually engaging and stunning to look at is really all they needed to work. Say what you will about his movies, but Snyder is a talented filmmaker. The movie is visually stunning and has more style than anything I've seen in a very long time. The music was a bit distracting whenever I recognized a song, but it really fit the mood and style of the movie and if you buy into the premise you stop noticing it after a while. When I first saw the trailers for it, it seemed like a movie I'd enjoy the hell out of. And now that I've finally seen it, I don't know why I ever let anyone's opinion make me feel otherwise. edit: Oh, I also watched Boondock Saints II last night. It's...well, it's Boondock Saints. There's really not a whole lot else to say about it. It's pretty much more of the same, and that was good enough for me.
  22. Wait, you mean it gets better? Then I guess I know what I'll be doing for most of the day Also, this is probably a by-product of having played a ton of Bethesda RPGs recently, but I feel like the game would benefit from having a fast travel function. lol It's getting annoying how long it is to run from one end of that shitty village to the other.
  23. Holy shit, this game owns so goddamn hard! I just played for almost 8 hours straight O_O Well, I mean, took a few breaks here and there, but still, I just could not stop.
