That's basically what happened with me. I would have been 9 when the N64 came out, so I really enjoyed it at first but besides from Majora's Mask and Perfect Dark, all the late N64 games seemed very family friendly and just kind of boring, so it really pushed me out of gaming. I remember renting Pokemon Snap and that being the straw that broke the camels back for me when I was 12/13. It just felt like video games weren't growing with me. Really what I wish I had done was jump ship to PlayStation. I eventually found my way there but besides for a PS2 for a few months and GTA: Vice City, I pretty much skipped that entire next console gen. You have no idea how much I want to play A Link to the Past, Super Mario World, etc and get trophies for them.

And two 3D Metroids, plus a good Mario. The best Smash.... Zing!

Sure but I don't think either of those games have the wide appeal Nintendo is known for.

It has a considerably better library than the Wii U. If the Wii U had an N64 quality library I would have been happy, not enthusiastic, but pleased enough. It's not like I bought a Wii U as my primary console. Right now the Wii U has.... Mario Kart and Mario Maker? The N64 got two god-tier Zelda games. And a great Mario platformer. The Wii U didn't even get any of those.

Super Mario 3D World is a fine game but it's really just a rehash of the 3DS game. It's not anywhere near as big and creative as Galaxy. I really think Nintendo's making a big mistake here, they're alienating the only people that supported them this generation.

Ok so just waking up to all this news, forgive me if this is a little incoherent. I don't even really care that much that NX is getting Zelda. But the fact that they delayed the Wii U version out of this year to come out at the same time as the NX version is upsetting. So now there's no big Wii U holiday game this year? Again? It's not our fault that the Wii U bombed, it's Nintendo's. It feels like they're slowly backing away from this platform without delivering anywhere near to a decent library, not when you compare it to the Wii, GCN, N64, etc. This whole experience has just left a bad taste in my mouth. As of right now, I don't think I'll be getting a NX.

Zelda Wii U is delayed till 2017. Hmmm... I wonder why. Fuck you, Nintendo.

Nintendo NX announced to launch March 2017. Suck it! *Edit - Also Zelda U confirmed for NX. I am so mad at Nintendo right now. All I wanted was a SM64/Sunshine/Galaxy follow-up and a new Zelda, and now I get neither. That was my first thought too. DAMMIT NINTENDO!! But seriously, who releases a video game console in March? MARCH!?! A handheld? Sure. But a full retail console? IN MARCH?!

I wish they'd do two hour premiers, that really wasn't enough.

I'll see anything with Sansa Stark in it in theatres, especially after what she did in last night's Game of Thrones episode.

That trailer came closer to getting me hyped than the others but still... something's off with this movie. Which is weird because I was so very excited for Days of Future Past.
