  1. I'm rather glad I didn't pre-order this game now. Sure I'll pick it up at some point (or borrow it), but the negative press has really put me off. A real shame really, as I was really interested in a game set in that world. Maybe the sequel will deliver where this game missed.
  2. But Money, bags and bags of money. People can't get enough.
  3. The main thing that worries me about the motherboard is it's viability going forward. I've had that concern from the moment I got it 3 years ago. I think I'll probably look for a new board, CPU and SSD then, based on you're above post. Any preference for Intel or AMD? As for the SSD, I don't really store files that aren't game installs on my machine, so i think 250gb should be fine, especially as I tend to delete games once I'm done with them. Although, if we're talking an extra £40-50 I might make the jump up for a 500gb one.
  4. Finally own Rogue Legacy on the Vita. That'll be going on Holiday with me

Yep! Thanks PS Plus. Also keen to try out Kick and Fennick. Looks like a fun puzzle platformer.

I suck ass at that game...and I lack patience. Bad combination.

  5. PC is a gaming machine, although I also use it for a little word processing if the situation calls for it. I think I should be able to find £600 if I really needed to, although I'm obviously looking to give a decent boost to performance at as lower cost as possible. PCPartPicker part list: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rvcYqs Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/rvcYqs/by_merchant/ CPU: *AMD FX-4300 3.8GHz Quad-Core Processor ($87.99 @ NCIX US) Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-78LMT-S2 Micro ATX AM3+ Motherboard Memory: Kingston HyperX 8GB (2 x 4GB) DDR3-1600 Memory ($130.74 @ Amazon) Storage: Hitachi Deskstar 7K1000.D 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive ($150.00 @ Amazon) Video Card: EVGA GeForce GTX 670 2GB Video Card Case: *Antec Three Hundred Two ATX Mid Tower Case ($52.99 @ SuperBiiz) Power Supply: *OCZ ZS 750W 80+ Bronze Certified ATX Power Supply ($124.99 @ Amazon) Operating System: *Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Full (32/64-bit) ($399.99 @ Amazon) That's more or less what I'm running now. Few items wouldn't be found on the site, so i substituted them to the best of my knowledge (Case, CPU - Just wouldn't bring up my CPU). Looking at upgrading to an SSD, maybe throwing some more ram into the mix (Believe my current Mobo can support 16gb, but thinking it might be worth upgrading to a new Mobo too), and maybe a new Graphics card?
  6. I'm looking into upgrading my rig, but to be honest with you the entire process scares the crap out of me. It's been an awful long time since I undertook something like this. Any advice? I know what I'm like, if I get flustered, I'll end up buying a new machine for the ease of it and then regretting my decision.
  7. I wasn't timing it, but I'd say you could get through it in a 2-3 hours, maybe a little longer if you're going to look at everything in the game.
  8. The Hobbit: The Unexpected Journey That weren't half bad. It's got its issues (the opening act is a little long, and the over-reliance on CGI is a little annoying), but on the whole I found that to be a fairly enjoyable return to Middle Earth. I love that world and can't wait to jump into part 2.
  9. Transistor. About 90 minutes in, I'm in love with the music and it's art style; the fight mechanics are a little hit and miss and I'm really not a fan of the way the game uses new power-up (attacks and the like), although I think that might be more of a UI issue, maybe that'll improve as I get used to it?
  10. Cold in July I went in expecting a fairly run of the mill thriller, but this film surprised me. Fantastic little thriller that not enough people have seen.
  11. Bayonetta 2. Sh*t be crazy man, sh*t be crazy. Not a criticism of the game at all, but man alive did that game look rough at times on my 46" TV. Compared to DMC on my PC, which admittedly looked above and beyond what most games could do, Bayonetta just didn't stack up.
  12. Only Lovers Left Alive - Kind of disappointed by this one. The film has a wonderful world, the actors are all on fine form but nothing really happens. Music was fun however and again, the two leads knocked it out of the park; I just wish a little more had happened. Blue Ruin - Again a tiny bit disappointing. The film starts strongly, and ends with one of my favourite scenes of the last few years, but the middle gets a little long. It's certainly one that I'll revisit again at some point though. The Guest - Probably my favourite of the three here. It's stylish, gripping and looks cool as fuck. I'll skip over the obvious Drive comparisons and say that It's certainly worth a look, and will probably be on my best of list for the year.
  13. I own a Vita and a 3DS and they've both been dormant under my bed for the last year. Hopefully with Gravity Rush 2 and Majora's Mask 3D on the way I'll have an excuse to get them out again.
  14. I just can't get enough of video games man!!
  15. I can't touch you guys in terms of number of games beaten, but this is the first time I've actively tracked what I beat and when I beat it. Not a bad tally I don't think, especially when coupled with the fact that I watched 200+ films. Believe it or not, I do have a job. I've noticed a serious lack of 3DS games on any of our lists, is this a trend or are we just the three guys who aren't interested in that system?
  16. I'm somewhat stunned by the amount of love directed towards Shadow of Mordor. I mean, it was Okay I guess, but it seems to be garnering GOTY noms like they're going out of fashion. It's far from a bad game but It didn't hit the mark with me. The world is boring, the story is...well down right poor and the combat get's really repetitive really quickly. The one thing it's got going for it is it's much lauded Nemesis system, which admittedly brings a good amount to the game, but even that get's boring and tedious after a while. 'Hey I finally killed that annoying green bastard...aaaand now there's another annoying green bastard in his place'. Repeat until bored. Did I miss something?
  17. Same. I got it on the Vita and it just didn't win me over. As for Super Time Force...no thanks. Interesting premise but f*ck that right off. The Steam sale finally got interesting.
  18. I think you just described all the films featuring those guys as the main protagonists. Whatever, I enjoy their team-ups, I just think some people expected something truly different; and not another Rogan/Franco comedy. Those are pretty hit and miss with folk.
  19. Fill me with confidence as I've been meaning to play that since it went gold a few months back. As for my GOTY it's a real tough one. I don't have a stand out, and three of the games that immediately come to mind are either re-releases or games that came out in 2012/13 (GTA 5, The Last of Us, Wind Waker HD). I've probably put more time into Destiny than almost any other game this year, but I just can't make that my choice as, all things considered....I don't think I think it's a terribly good game. Addictive? Yeah, but i had serious issues with that game from start to finish. Counterspy is a fairly simplistic game, but it's got a fantastic aesthetic and really grabbed me in the time I spent with it, I'm just not comfortably attaching it to my GOTY list, it'll probably make the top 3 though. I just wish the game had more reply value aside from trying to beat your point tally. Fun though, you should definitely take a look (also available on iOS I believe). Mario Kart 8? Had some fantastic weeks with that game, even though I rarely ever played competitive multiplayer. Maybe if I had some friends to play it with it'd nab my vote, it's a fantastic little game for sure, but I've not played it in a few months (for the reason above - no one wants to play with me . ) **I've still got Bayonetta 2 to play through, and Endless Legend seems like it might appeal to me too (not played yet either). Gun to my head? My Game of the Year is GTA 5. It's been a bad year.
  20. I don't know who got me these (and apparently Steam doesn't give me an avenue to find out after the fact), but whoever you are, thank you.
  21. Still playing and enjoying GTA 5 in short bursts of a few hours here and there. I'm beginning to mainline the main missions however, because I can feel myself losing interest in the games mechanics, that and I've got a bucket load of games to play on PC and Wii U. Serious question, how many of you actually enjoyed the various activities in GTA? I played a few rounds of Tennis and just didn't enjoy it. Same with a few of the other activities and less..interesting tasks.
