  1. "Oh W&S! You cheeky funster!" "Wakka wakka wakka!"
  2. Makes me think of how the 360 and PS3 Suits for the original Dead Space were free for a few weeks before or after release (I don't remember which) then switched over to being paid DLC. I'd be pretty alright with this so long as they stuck with things that wouldn't break the game or provide any sort of unfair advantage in the case of multiplayer.
  3. Made some ramen noodle chimichangas the other day and they turned out pretty good. Maybe a bit too much garlic, but everyone who tried them thought they were tasty. Think I'll cook the chicken with a little sriracha next time and use pepper jack cheese.
  4. There was a couple things about the gameplay that bugged me. The whole 'dodge via ducking' thing was one of them. I'd have liked both a dodge and a block button (like Super Double Dragon) as it sure seemed like there was a lot of shit you couldn't dodge. Overall though, I liked it.
  5. Finally got around to playing and beating Double Dragon Neon. I think it really hit all the right notes in both tone and presentation.
  6. Yeah, it's an intended future purchase. I was trying to hold off on getting any 3DS game until I had one, but I couldn't pass up such a low price.
  7. I don't even own a 3DS, but $11 and Ace Combat!
  8. Wait a minute... (ノಠ益ಠ)ノ彡 Okay.
  9. I think Alan Wake would work better on a network that wouldn't meddle too much and definitely wouldn't pull the 'it's too cerebral/needs too much thinking'. Also, purchased! I love Remedy and I want more Alan Wake eventually dammit.
  10. I wish I'd played RE Revelations before RE6 because the latter's controls have spoiled me.

Back in the door, I could accept the lack of melee/dodging abilities to tech limitations, but it feels like 'Man, really?'.

That and my suspension of disblief is going 'Why can't they punch or kick unless prompted? Why is only the knife acceptable? ahhhhhhh'.

Ideally, my dream RE game would have the atmosphere of Relevations, the gameplay of 6 and a refinement of RE Outbreak's co-op.

It'd be awesome to have a big area like Raccoon City where one segment is like say, Claire Scenario A of RE2 while your partner is doing Leon Scenario B. Each player is contributing and there is areas where they'd be able to bump into either, but for the most part it's two players helping each other out indirectly in working toward the goal...

...and that would just be one area. I'd buy ten of that.

  11. I just had a revelation. The Xbox One has no analog video output. The number of Americans who have HDTVs is at about 75% as of February while only 51% have more than one. Microsoft, I...
  12. Okay, Microsoft, you win. I concede. You guys really aren't as dumb as I thought. It turns out that you're actually dumber than I thought.
  13. I'd say this is pretty conveniently timed. Right after the Microsoft press conference! Hilarity!
  14. I'm gonna coin the phrase now. "It's called the Xbox One because that's what it's going to reduce Microsoft's stock to."

Xbox One? We here at Microsoft like to think of it as Xbox "Won!" He har har he ha ho ho HA!

It's called the Xbox One because it only has one game.

  15. From where I'm sitting, it looks like the next thing that'll end up in my entertainment center is a PS4 (okay, it'll probably be a Wii U in like 2 years, depends on which thing price drops first).
  16. But...but I didn't play them before they were cool!
  17. I like to imagine someone out there is infuriated by their inability to pin down my tastes accurate.
  18. While I'm kind of amused by the prospect of Troy Baker (whose voice I would marry) as The Joker, I thought Richard Epcar did a pretty good job, even if the game he was stuck in was Mortal Kombat vs. DC.
  19. I personally enjoy the Fuse visuals more than the OverStrike ones, likely for the reason everyone hates the reverse. Felt too much like 'Ratchet and Clank, but with humans!'.
  20. In the case of Sega, it's self-sabotage and one director being as pigheaded as possible. I did a little digging around and it really boiled down to fans of the old Shining Force games being displeased with the direction the series has gone since SF3 (which is, in all fairness, a very valid thing). So they started a campaign to petition Sega to re-release Shining Force 3 (which is also fair, because only Japan got the full damn game). In response, Tsuyoshi Sawada (who I am guessing became the director starting at Shining Tears), pulled an Adam Orth/Bob Summerwill by being a dumbass who got too close to a microphone and started calling old Shining fans enemies of the franchise who are trying to sabotage its success and what have you. Only difference is that he got to keep his job.
  21. "Because of people like you [that are willing to shell out $45 on a preorder instead of $60], the gaming industry is going to hell! Signed, A Guy Who Truly Loves Videogames and hates casuals." Oh Destructoid, sometimes you're as bad as Kotaku with your comments section.

Coincidentally, all of those were preordered through NewEgg because they were offering $12 to $15 off.

      Hmmmm...

      I can't believe that's even a mindset.

I would say that Destructoid as a publication represents that militant hardcore gamer crowd better than any other competition in the field.

  22. Just finished the Fuse demo. Actually enjoyed it a lot. Too bad the internet at large is still hopped on BAWWWWWWWWWWWW NOT COLORFUL AND QUIRKY LIKE OVERSTRIKE goofballs.

It seems like a waste of time to persist in huffing the goofballs though! I mean, the game is what it is now and barring someone pulls a Scarlet Witch, it's stuck being that way.

Seems like a better plan to just enjoy it for what it is at this point.

Glad you enjoyed it. I think it's got some really solid gameplay. Lets you work as a team while still giving you the sense of not being utterly powerless when solo.

Just gave it a go myself. Really enjoyed it. I used to love Resistance 2's co-op, and it scratches that itch while providing more varied gameplay.
