  1. Yeah for some reason it makes me think of this story which just came out. http://www.develop-online.net/news/38614/We-lost-10m-from-pre-owned-Heavy-Rain-Quantic-Dream Secondhand gaming doesn't cost you anything. You might have been able to earn more money without doing any extra work if you removed rights that people have had for a couple of hundred years now.
  2. Oh dang. They optimized the crap out of that foliage!
  3. HA! I didn't even notice that! Awesome gif too.
  4. Is it really that similar to BFBC2? I didn't much care for the multiplayer demo of BFBC2 that I played.
  5. There are many great popcorn gifs, but this is probably my favorite.
  6. I miss these videos from Nintendo Power. I bought Starfox 64 because of this video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jgEZJt911Qw
  7. I'll also leave this here: http://www.sciencemag.org/content/254/5032/652.extract I also find the title funny. I'm pretty sure most kids learn that the sun is what warms the earth in 3rd or 4th grade.
  8. I love these threads. Been a while since we had one. (I can't find the popcorn one)

I know these are all opinion pieces. I wasn't trying to say they weren't. Unfortunately I'm not a subscriber to Nature journal. http://www.nature.com/nature/journal/v476/n7361/full/nature10343.html

dammit, even Google don't have access (there's a trick with some sites to view the Google cache version)

  9. I think all companies should include a prettier box art inside as a bonus. http://www.giantbomb.com/news/sony-avoids-net-rage-makes-right-call-on-team-ico-box-art/3650/

I just recently started using the inner artwork for certain PS3 titles. Although, it makes it harder for me to keep my library alphabetically organized.

Xenoblade had this too, was purty.

  10. MasterDex said it pretty good methinks.
  11. Oh come on, it's been a while since we had a good squabble in here. I would love to play some COD with you Maritan though but alas i have have it only on xbox. Multiplayer is all about having a fair competition and showing skill and I just see no skill in killing people as they spawn. I'd back off a bit and let them get a footing again or restart and shuffle the teams a bit.
  12. Well if you like shooting helpless people why not just boot a lot of empty player spots and shoot them? There's nothing sporting about spawn caming. It's just a different form of grieving.
  13. Meh, I think that's part of what I don't care for in BFBC2. A good game wouldn't keep spawning you in the same place. Anyway, spawn camping is lame no matter how hard it is to pull off.
  14. I wouldn't describe spawn camping as "playing the game better than others".
  15. Yeah, my W/L ratio in all COD games has always been almost exactly 1. I guess I'm a total non-factor. That being said, whenever I did play with a group of other players in a team we pretty much steamrolled everyone. If I were more single I'd consider joining a real clan. Actually, that's the essence of why I play COD. If you're playing a game like Battlefield without friends then your chances of winning aren't great and you're pretty much screwed if you go against a team that works together. I'm basing this off Battlefield 2 which is the last BF game I played a lot. I rarely have the time to schedule all my friends together to play a game and as such I'm much more self focused when I play online. If I go for wins I just end up getting really pissed off at incompetent teammates. I was going to try to find my W/L on Halo Reach. My K/D in TDM is 1.56 and my 1st Place % is 62.3%. Not sure if 1st place = winning team or actually 1st in kills (fairly sure that's the win %). I consider myself a team player in Halo because I spend most of my time helping teammates and finishing off kills. That's the only way to win at Halo.
  16. Not sure what you would call this genre but it's starting to make a big impact in America. Foster the People are getting big now too.
  17. Yeah. But for Music and iOS games it's more like <70: This CD/iOS game is awful 70-90: you might like it >90: general consensus.
  18. Yeah, and can't you get a lot of points and things in BFBC2 without actually killing people? It's just a much different type of game.
  19. So metacritic does iOS reviews now and I find it pretty hilarious. I guess if a game is $0.99 then it has to get a good review. iOS metascores are quickly trying to be as worthless as music metascores are.
  20. http://translate.google.com/translate?hl=en&ie=UTF8&prev=_t&rurl=translate.google.com&sl=de&tl=en&twu=1&u=http://www.01net.com/genere/article/fichiersAttaches/1314112925-nintendo-wiiu-english-parttwo.rtf Hmmm... It really seems like the Wii U is just a total misstep by Nintendo.
