  1. I liked most of them, but I don't even remotely understand #6.
  2. Resolution: to not buy any more games (excepting new releases) until my backlog is down to 5.

Pyre better number 1 on your backlog.

It's actually #2 after Rime, mostly because Rime is shorter so will come off my backlog quicker.

  3. Oh yeah, Japan Studio for sure, completely forgot about them.
  4. Supergiant will definitely go on my list if I enjoy Pyre as much as I'm expecting. Bioware is another one like Bungie, that I would have put on the list a few years ago, but now they seem to be drifting further and further from what I want from them (although I did quite enjoy Inquisition).
  5. New cinematic trailer for Origins: Which has made me want to repost the greatest video game trailer of all time:
  6. Just finished Aven Colony. As I said in the What Are You Currently Playing thread, it's basically Tropico in space but with less personality. It was a lot of fun though, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone who likes the Tropico or Anno style of economic management city builder.
  7. Yeah, this is hard. I would have said Bungie, but every decision they make with Destiny seems like they're going "What would Ethan not like? We'll do that." so idk anymore.
  8. New Jurassic Park theme park builder game from the Planet Coaster people. Hell to the yeah!
  9. Maybe it's a UK thing, I've never seen an ad on Amazon Prime videos.
  10. @FLD I haven't seen War yet so no spoilers, but it being ~15 years in the future would also cause problems with all the apes being completely shocked that a human could talk. I mean, if it's that soon then the older apes would remember when all humans could talk, even if none have been able to do so for the last few years.
  11. Black Flag was pretty great except for all the dumb parts where you had to go ashore (although I did enjoy freeing all the slaves from the plantations).
  12. Speaking of Legend of Legaia, we were cleaning out our basement a couple weekends ago and I found this: One of the few JRPGs I've ever liked.
  13. I've been playing Aven Colony and really enjoying it. It doesn't have nearly the same personality as Tropico, but I love the alien colonization theme and mechanically it's a joy to play.
  14. Video game themed ones would be cool. If I think about it when I have time I'll see if I can find anything. Is there a particular format/resolution that would work best?
  15. Oh yeah, if you ignore everything but the first of the 70's movies then these could easily be prequels. So it's at least a partial reboot, but possibly not a full one.
  16. Mass Effect Andromeda is on sale for $20 right now on Origin, which was cheap enough for me to bite.
  17. @FLD They're a reboot. The old-timey prequels depict a way different origin for the ape rebellion.
  18. Also I bought Rime because it was $17 on CDkeys.
  19. I have a Steam code for Limbo if anyone wants it. I got it in the pack with Inside and didn't realize I already owned it...
  20. Preordered Dishonored 2: Death of the Outsider on Amazon since my Prime membership gets me 20% off physical preorders, and I had a $10 promotional code that is expriring on this game's release date, so it was fate really.
  21. I also had problems logging in on Tapatalk, although I've only tried it once.
  22. Yeah, isthereanydeal is nice, I've linked it to my Steam account so it e-mails me any time a game I want drops to a new low price (not every time one's on sale, just every time it's a record low).
  23. We welcome necromancers around here. I also think you deserve some kind of award for what is likely the oldest thread that's ever been resurrected.
  24. Huh. Now I feel the opposite of what I did before: I'm far more likely to play the game, but I'm kind of disappointed that the mechanic isn't real, because it was a neat idea. It's a very odd feeling.
  25. Yeah, my take on the permadeath thing is it seems like a neat integration of the games themes into the mechanics, but at the same time it completely puts me off wanting to play it. But that's okay, not every game has to be for me.
