  1. That UK one decided I was from the south east.
  2. Yeah, my wife and I love Ru Paul's Drag Race.
  3. Doesn't it cost money to change your tag?
  4. Well I was gonna play the original Splinter Cell on PC, but turns out the shadows are fucked up on it too.

Was the PC version ported by the same people? As in it didn't have a PC port back when it first came out?

No, it was on PC back then. And Ethan, how do you mean? I don't remember any shadow problems when I played it. Only major issue I ran into was a lighting tech no longer being supported by modern drivers, and I only noticed it in the last mission since the spotlights I was supposed to avoid weren't visible. I found a fix, though. They still didn't work but I could see the areas on the ground I needed to avoid.

Actually, I think I was confusing myself based on what I was reading on forums about it not working on other cards, and thinking I was having some of the symptoms.

  5. Did you ignore the part where not all apps show up in search? *Edit* - Also, Win 7 has pictures in the start menu too, they're called "icons" and are plenty good enough for recognizing apps. And if I'm in All Programs instead of launching something pinned I just start typing the name of it anyway to go straight to it.
  6. I haven't heard of any problems withits stability.
  7. I didn't realize it was that close to done.
  8. Clearly you have no idea what you're talking about. Or just type in "not" and right click it. What in the world does your response have to do with his comment? If you go to his link the middle tip is referencing adding programs that don't show up insearch. Clearly notepad does, which is why it's used as the example for finding programs that do show up in search.
  9. I meant if the prices ends up being not much more than doing that. But I'm sure it will be.
  10. I'd use it if it weren't much more than getting the components the old fashioned way (and if it weren't proprietary).
  11. My favorite part was the "sexy girl laugh" subtitles. She did have a cute voice.
  12. How do you even get to checkout? I thought all digital games were one-click purchase. *Edit* - Never mind, there's a confirmation page.
  13. That looks super fancy space age compared to the Wacom my wife has.
  14. Well hell, if it works on all digital games I may have to do some more shopping...
  15. But he said he'd tried it with both 20 and 21 on the front, and neither worked.
  16. That $5 coupon is only supposed to be good on the Editor's Choice games, and that pack isn't listed. Can you confirm it applies?
  17. Metro was the official name for the interface for products in the wild, not just Win8, for like 6 years. The idea that it was only ever an internal codename is a retcon by Microsoft. I'm going to keep calling it Metro because "Modern UI" is clunky and sounds stupid.
  18. Sony said today that for every platform other than PS4 and Vita you'll have to use a DS3 to play the games. On PS4 you can use the DS4 and on Vita you can use its controls, but TVs and phones and everything will require a DS3, no touch or other controllers.
  19. Wait, are you actually insinuating the recent season of Korra was better than this show? I don't even know what to say to that, and I'm one of the people who liked this Korra better than most...
  20. Yeah, it's not a system seller because you can do it on PS3. Or your phone. Or your fucking TV.
  21. I think the only thing I agree with in that comment is that it would be nice if they'd have the movie characters make appearances occasionally. Even minor, like for one scene.
  22. Fine the start screen then. Whatever it's called, I don't like it. On a touch screen it's nice, but with a kb/m it just feels clunky compared to the start menu. As far as future proofing goes, two things: 1) I'm not convinced it won't be ignored. DX10 was pretty much ignored. 2) Even if it does become integral to gaming there's nothing to stop me from getting Win8 in the future.
  23. Do I mean the thing that used to be called Metro but they changed the name to something bland that I couldn't remember? Hmmm... Yeah, guess what, that start menu is the Metro interface, which as I said, I hate. Like I said in my last post. *Edit* - Also, as far as I can see, the only two games that even support DX11.1, released or announced, are BF4 and Star Trek Online. Not exactly super compelling.
  24. Because I hate the metro interface on non-touch devices. I know it has desktop mode, but it doesn't have a start menu, except metro, which I hate. *Edit* - also this is the first I've heard of better games compatibility.
