  1. Ah great, I've been playing mostly on hard. Except for the first boss Bryce. Holy crap that was a big difficulty spike!
  2. YES!!!! OH GOD THANK YOU. Finally. I can NOT WAIT. I need this now. Please say they are bringing a translated AA2 with it as well. That would be an excellent bonus feature! So happy they are doing a Phoenix gets his Attorney's badge back storyline. This is what I've been waiting for since Apollo Justice, an older Phoenix taking the reigns! And Maya better be back!
  3. I'm liking it a good bit more now that I'm on the grown up part. The child part is really a prologue despite its around 6 hour lenght. The battle system is even getting better and the title system is a neat way to go about leveling up and gaining more skills. Plus the dialogue isn't as bad. For the most part. I'm enjoying all the little things, like the skits that actually give a bit more character development. The humour though falls flat on its face.
  4. Here's a good comparison of the two Luke voices. Its the opening scene of Pandora's Box. The US voice is......yeah. I'd say you would get used to it though and at least emotion is still being conveyed. Bought this, traded in New Super Mario Bros Wii and Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story and got €35 off, so got it for €15 after that. So far I'm not exactly happy with it, but I'll persist with it. Bowser's Inside Story would want me to. Don't normally trade in games but I'd finished both and they aren't rare or anything.
  5. But there are plenty of Wii games that look better. Honestly the enviorments looks just as bad as something like Tales of Symphonia for the Gamecube and THAT looked just average at the time. Just compare this, to game running through Dolphin at a HD resolution. There's no comparison. Oh one more annoying thing. The invisible walls. So many invisible walls in the environments and with no logic or consistency to where they are put. I despise that.
  6. So....I bought it on Friday (Nintendo games keep their trade in value so I got €35 off!), played into it a few hours. First impressions. The good: Battle system is nice. Its got an action point system, that is spent doing anything but dodging and running, and you get bonuses to those points for dodging and holding your defensive stance for a few seconds and attacking. Its fun, although even on hard mode, regular enemies drop like flies, whereas bosses are waaaay stronger. The main characters relationship with his father is interesting and different from pretty much everything in the game. The bad: This looks like an HD Wii game. A BAD looking HD Wii game. Tales of Graces did not look good for the Wii compared to something like Xenoblade. it looks clean here but that's about the only positive you can glean from it. It looks so basic, everything about it from the simple character models to the incredibly stiff animation looks poor. The animation in some cutscenes, oh my God, looks terrible. You know the way in a some Telltale games a character will never hand another character an item properly, or actually touch another persons hand because of the basic animation? That's this here, times a hundred. The characters. These are the most cliche ridden characters I've ever seen in a JRPG. The plucky hero who's courageous and enthusiastic and always does right but makes mistakes cause he's sooo enthusiastic? Yep.The mysterious female, with a unknown past who takes in a monotone voice and doesn't understand concepts like 'friends' and this causes all sorts of HIGHlarious highjinks to ensue? Yes. The cowardly but smarter younger brother who is a lot more cautious then his brother but looks up to him? Uh-huh. The best friend girl, who makes not so subtle references towards loving the main character but she seriously finds him annoying..if only he could realise she loves him!......Jesus yes. The posh prince, who's a bit snobby and isn't normally used to having people round him but overall has a good heart? OH YES. The dialogue is hideous. I've heard its get better once you get to the 'adult' chapter. I hope it does.
  7. Did anybody every took that game seriously? I sure as hell didn't. Now Ground Zeros... oh my. Then again, Kojima's name has ton of weigh of behind it. Not take seriously, but I think for a lot of people it was looking like the only slice of MGS for a long while. Now this pops up and well....Revengeance just looks a bit old hat. Christ on a bun, people on youtube are dumb though. It has a friggin PS3 and Xbox 360 logo at the end of the damn video! Its fairly obvious its coming out this generation.
  8. That looks pretty damn slick. Guess I'll have to finally play Peace Walker as that's where Paz is introduced isn't it? That looked fantastic though while still looking like something from this generation. In a good way I mean. Can't wait to see how the open world stuff plays out. Also its multiplatform, 360 and PS3, I presume a PC version as well. This takes the wind out of the sails of Revengeance though. That looks almost like a MGS parody compared to this.
  9. But she just became nice. There was nothing realistic about how she changed all of a sudden, or why she was such a bitch in the first place. She was so bland, she had none of the sarcastic charm of Cloud, who was a bit of a dick to begin with and underwent a transformation but he was still likable, even before that. And Sazh in any game would be awesome! I was hoping he was a party member in Theatrhythm. He wasn't
  10. A sequel starring Sazh is one I would actually buy. I have no interest in the world or any other characters, but Sazh was the best character Square Enix has created in years. That chapter 8 with Sazh and Vanille was the only part of XIII which I found genuinely gripping.
  11. The next Final Fantasy XIII announced it in this loooonnnngggg ass video. Why is Lighting returning being presented as this incredible thing? I dunno. I guess maybe she was really popular, but this damn video drags and drags. Final Fantasy is like a crystal? Of course! XIII is like a boquet of roses? That explains everything. Christ. Anyway, here's the info that actually matters. I like the idea of moving Lighting during the battle system. That's closer to the original FF XIII trailer than any of XIII was. And what I like more is this being the final game of the XIII world. At least, I hope it is.
  12. Man, that looks like tonnes of fun. I hope you never feel too strong. That stuff like the zombie with the helmet who took a while to kill was thrilling to watch.
  13. Aeris :(

Well it was Aeris back in the day, and damn it, that's the way we are remembering till we have a remake of VII where Cloud screams "AAAEERRRRIITTTTHHH".

  14. Holy shit, can you imagine Kratos sailing across the Atlantic and then killing all the Aztec gods? How badass would that be? And now I see your point about Halo a little better, and I agree. I'm glad that your main enemies in this one won't be the Covenant, and hopefully the Flood won't be anywhere in sight. There are...other Gods...
  15. So this is coming out on Friday over here with a special 'day 1 edition' as its called. Anyone picking it up? I'm a sucker for a Tales game, and it might be a limited run like other Namco Bandai games......but then again I've got a big backlog.
  16. Oh hell yeah Pokemon TCG was awesome! Perfect Dark was great for its time on GBC, and Resident Evil Gaiden was a good but weird take on the Resi formula. You walked around and fought zombies in a weird first person mode where a trigger moved from right to left and you had to attack them at the reticule was over them. Was weird. Dragon Warrior Monsters was badass and a really great take on the Pokemon formula. Super Mario Bros Deluxe is impressive purely for all they managed to stuff into one cart, it even has a boo race mode and the entire original Super Mario Bros 2 as well. it has so many extras but I doubt it'd work great on your phone. Pokemon Pinball is pretty awesome, that's worth checking out. I've heard good things about Dragon Warrior III on GBC. And Survival Kids is about kids suviring on a island but features such an open ended structure that really works.
  17. I get what you're saying, but there was no real warnings. US and EU account bannings are extrememly rare and this was just slipped into the latest firmware update without Sony informing anyone. That's just well, bad. Really bad. I was planning to buy a Vita eventually and use two accounts so I could have access to the bigger Vita store on the PSN US store and well as the EU store for my PS1 games, that sort of thing. This just limits things further.
  18. Does the PSP support multiple accounts like the PS3? I didnt know that. But Ill stick to what I said earlier. I would never buy things from more than my own account in my own region. I just wouldnt. Especially when the device I use it on makes it such a hassle. I have a UK PS3 account to download free themes and demos they get earlier. That's it. And honestly, the Vita itself is not locked to an account. Just the card. People are acting like theyre severely fucked forever or that they have to get 2 Vitas(which is equally stupid). Theyre not. They gotta do the same tedious shit as before, but with 2 cards now. Sorry if I dont feel sorry for the hassle of handling their luxury item in a way that wasnt intended. If a company doesn't flaunt something, then its probably not a "feature". Its the same thing with game sharing. We all know what its real intention is - to have our games spread across our own systems in case we own more than one. But no. A lot of people use them to play free games on their friend's/family's account. If that goes away someday, I personally wont throw a fit because I don't game share and I don't need to be told it's wrong. I already know so. I doubt a lot of people own more than one PS3, PSP or Vita anyways. Just the entire concept of having different stores for different regions is enough to know they dont want you to have everything from every store, otherwise....they'd have one store? Is it fucking stupid to deprive one region of things another one has? Absolutely. But if its been this long and it's never changed, well fuck it. Ill just deal with it. I personally am not going to risk shit like this happening to me. Blowing up bullshit that will affect almost no one is just ridiculous, but its what the internet loves to do. I doubt this affects anyone here and I doubt this will affect anyone in the future. And the "threat" of this having any kind of negative effect on sales is stupid. Its just shit people say because they know they're already not interested in ever buying it. And you know what? Yeah. Fuck those people. When you have to reset an entire system to switch accounts you should have taken a fucking hint instead of trying to worm your way into bullshit that wasn't normally supported. Deal with it. And the sad thing is that i think all this shit is wrong. There shouldn't be region locking(or regions in general), there should be a way to have multiple accounts on the same card(Id actually would use it if there was), but there is a point where an individual needs to decide what they're going to do about it. These people decided to go against what rules were set and got bitten. Simple as that. Im not defending this stupid move by Sony, but I have zero sympathy for the people it affected. Everyone in this is a stubborn idiot. its really easy for you to say that because the US store in the Vita's case is far, far better than the EU one. If it were the other way round you would be feeling a lot different. Also, how are they 'worming your way into bullshit' when you use the different accounts? Sony had the feature on the Vita with resetting the system, removing a feature like that is a terrible practice and claiming people who were using it were trying to be 'sneaky' is complete bullshit. 'But if its been this long and it's never changed, well fuck it. Ill just deal with it.' But it WAS changed. People could use the accounts on the PS3 and PSP. Your telling me there wasn't a certain set of PSP users who used US and EU accounts who aren't going to be effected by this and who were thinking about buying a Vita before Sony changed this?
  19. Its not about 'sharing' the handheld with other people Stranglove. Its about buying games from the US store and the EU store. The Vita support in the EU PSN has not been great at all so buying from the US store as well for other games lesser games was a great option. There is NO reason for this hassle to be there. Not only that, what about the people who've been using their multiple PSP accounts on their Vita? Fuck those guys right? Sony shouldn't be pissing off people who use both stores on the Vita. It was an excellent option on the PSP and PS3 because the EU store would take ages for some games to arrive and some wouldn't even be released on it. All this news is going to do is deter more people from buying it till there's a price drop, and its been doing terrible as it is sales wise.
  20. That Worldwide Counter Strike:GO release date has become a bit of a farce. One again it fails to show up on the EU PSN store. Worst part is they won't say why its happening.

Ditto. However, there's little point in making a big deal about a delay for a game that you're not planning on getting in the near future because that shit happens. Also, we don't know the reason so let's not get to judgemental just yet.

      Thursday Next

I don't think there was anything judgmental in the original statement. Not releasing something without any explanation when it is out on the same platform in another territory is farcical.

  21. http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2012-08-29-playstation-vita-update-locks-memory-cards That's pretty damn terrible. Why would they do that? What does it accomplish other than forcing your most loyal customers to buy more memory cards?
  22. finished MGS4 today, replaying it after 4 years. Really good, but god damn, those information dumps during the endless amounts of cutscenes are so unnessecary.

      Snake: Information dumps?!

Otacon: Yes Snake. They originated in the first MGS with scenes that talked of the Start Program and DARPA.

      Snake: MGS?

      Otakon: Metal Gear Solid.

      Snake: Metal Gear?!

Well with the trophies I thought it was time to go back and replay it Pojo, and overall its still really enjoyable.

Kau you are absolutely right, the problem with MGS4 in that respect though is that it just goes on and on and on about the bloody AIs and the patriots so god damn much and in so damn detail of stuff that has no consequence.

    4. Pojodin

      Pojodin

Ya, the trophies are the extra push that convinced me to give it another go, but I am playing through Skies of Arcadia Legends and then have The Last Story to play. After that, I may go back as well.

  23. http://blog.metaclassofnil.com/?p=92 There's the download for the Resolution fix. Here's a great comparison shot. Unmodded Modded
  24. http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=488088&page=14 SOMEONE HAS ALREADY UNLOCKED THE RESOLUTION LOCK! Heres it at a proper 1080p res with no AA or anything just rendered at 1080p
  25. So anyone preordered this? The preload has started finally on Steam. and it unlocks tonight at midnight GMT. Here's some supposed screenshots of what it actually looks like at 1080p.
