I don't really understand your point, the same can be said of any media: it doesn't matter how "good" it is, it only matters how many people buy it. Oh was just pointing out how Strangelove said bad films don't hurt directors or actors etc. I was just saying that bad doesn't hurt anyone, its unpopular films that damage those who make them.

I love me some Mario games, but NSMB 2 3DS....I just feel a bit cold about it and didn't buy it. There are just more richer 3DS experiences available to me, that are priced at the same price or lower, like Kid Icarus, which seem to have actual effort and some more production values put into it, with its orchestrated soundtrack, full voice acting and crazy online multiplayer. NSMB 2, as good as it may be, just feels like Nintendo going through the motions. Even visually they should be trying to shake it up or something but it looks the damn same.

I agree with what you've said but its worth pointing out that bad films don't hurt the directors or actors, for example Michael Bay and the abysmal Transformers movies, its unpopular films that do, a bit like Nicholas Cage and his varying degrees of bizarre films he's chosen to be part of. These days he's just not much of a box office draw. I think no matter the complaints, there's a portion of gamers that do buy licensed peripherals and merch. All that CoD stuff sells, even that Mass Effect stuff sells, hell look at how many people complained about Diablo 3 and its DRM, yet it'll probably be the biggest selling PC game of the year. I really think lesser games devs and publishers should be trying to get more merch out there. a lot more should have web stores and be selling stuff. There should be a clothes section in Gamestop. I know that sounds almost eye rollingly cliche but they've already got dvds and cds for chrissakes, at least this would actually be licensed gaming stuff. Anyway, I can understand why companies like Ubisoft frantically grasp piracy percentages. Its just easy to justify for them and make them look like 'victims'. "Look we've released all these games on PC and we are getting massive piracy numbers! What more can we do?" I really think that Ubisoft just need to submit to Steam and release their games with Steamworks. Or even better yet. Release a retail version with their usual DRM and release a Steam version that would obviously be more expensive but would use Steamworks. I bet anything they'd make more money. The release of a DRM free version of Assassins Creed 1 on GOG was a start, but paying 20 bucks for a 5 year old title with no drm is a bit much. They really seem to want to be like EA in regards to PC gaming, having their own store, releasing F2P games, but they just aren't on EA's level in terms of all the licenses and franchises and devs they own.

Finally got a new 3DS game, and so far I love this. Dialogue is the perfect combo of witty and cheesy. Works really well. Controls are hard to get used to though. And this was also the game that pushed me past the 7000 stars in the Club Nintendo stars catalogue that I needed for this, which I've just ordered. I will contain my enthusiasm to one word. woot.

demon's souls. DEMON'S SOULS. I've got to say, those last few bosses were pretty easy. The game definetly peaks in terms of difficultly at around the middle mark. Great game though. And you're thrown right into the new game plus straight away......

In Demon's Souls, I'm only two levels away from the final boss I think, as the music in the Nexus has changed and is now all EVIL sounding. I got back into it and started again when I heard the servers were going down and this time I've truly GOT the game. Truly I am a GOD. Now I've neglected Dark Souls for too long D: Also getting back into Skyward Sword. Had to download the damn iso cause my Wii's disk drive is broken. BOO. Also I'm nearly finished Solatorobo: Red The Hunter on DS, its great. Really great and has some great production values for a DS title. Now to start playing Hotel Dusk.

I thought the expectations were that there would be at least a proper resolution option, even just 16:9 options only. The way its going right now, the higher the resolution of your monitor the worse the game will look.

I've been getting into the gym a lot more often the last 2 months. I'm feeling a lot better, I get in about 4 to 5 days a week, and although I still have get hot a lot its more managable. I basically do 40 to 50 minutes of different cardio each workout and then focus on a muscle group. I have trouble eating a proper lunch though, I always seem to eat something that sits in my stomach, like tuna in a sandwich and soup.

Its not necessarily just a prettier HD Half Life. They've change a lot of things, added in iron sights on weapons, changed areas, made things more 'modern' as the devs put it.

I think that's a fascinating discussion. Two titles that come to mind that do it well in the modern 3D age of gaming are the Metroid Prime series and Dead Space. The first Prime has a big UI around your helmet view with a a 3D map in the right corner, but always has the your view in the centre uncluttered and easy to see. Doors always have the same look and same blue hue around them. In the forest area of Tallon Overworld, where you first land after the opening where your powers have been stripped from you, the raised platforms that you can jump around on have vines hanging from the sides but are still visible and easy to spot, with enemies roaming around on top of them, encouraging you to explore. Dead Space is presented a lot like Prime, but its a lot more linear and more detailed but never to the point where you can't see where to go. In fact, its always a clean, uncluttered look, enhanced by the lack of UI. There's a lot of games that do it right.

Saw Ted! Very enjoyable film. Genuinely funny and even a bit heartwarming. Also jokes in the trailer have different punchlines in the film, that was a great touch, to not have some jokes ruined. Some great laughs. And the CG on Ted was fantastic. You don't even think its CG. Not once.

I dunno, I think its a different market but its the same people....Nobody buys an iphone just to play games wheras they bought a Wii to play games. Its interesting to think about Kinect 2 which may be in the xbox console itself next time. Would that have any effect on sales really?

I was getting around 37 idle temps on my GPU, now I'm getting from 40 to 45. I hate that! GO BACK TO NORMAL!! Also yeah my RAM was fucked when I first got my PC. So I sent it back and now everythings been fine. I get paranoid though......LIKE IS FIREFOX MAKING MY GPU HOTTER EH? And all those random times the fans just seem to go crazy for no reason. Why? I'm not doing anything different, they just do it for no reason. Urgh.

A shame Final Fantasy III is a bit rubbish. Such a basic feeling game and story. I guess its a risk free launch title. If the Ouya fails in anyway, all they've done is port III to it. No biggie.

Really enjoyed Dark Knight Rises, thought the action was stellar and definitely loved all the performances but there were quite a few niggles which prevented it from reaching the lofty heights of Dark Knight.
