  1. Yeah, the game hasn't frozen on me yet but the framerate occasionally slows down to a crawl. Also, I already feel like the game suffers from having dedicated servers. Sometimes I log on and there are barely any messages on the ground and I encounter almost no other players. When I finally played Demon's Souls seriously (last summer, so close to two years after its release) there were still messages everywhere and I constantly ran into other players' ghosts. I mean, it wasn't as insane as the first few weeks when the game had just come out, but it was significantly more than what I sometimes see in Dark Souls.
  2. It's not like you guys were forced to pick the PC version, though. If you didn't want to wait all you had to do was get it for your console of choice.
  3. IGN a 9.5 Hopefully my copy will actually get here next week. I don't want to go through an extra week of waiting like I had to with Dark Souls
  4. Yeah I figured there had to be a way to fight the Hydra up close, so I tried earlier and realized exactly what you mentioned. Haven't beaten it yet though. As for the drakes, I managed to kill one but it was too much troubles for me to start exploring the area yet. I really need to replace the damn Drake Sword, though :/ It's a nice boost in the early game, but right now it's catching up to me. I need something that deals more damage and because the Drake Sword doesn't get a bonus from strength, I slightly neglected that stat, so now I have to grind...
  5. Actually yeah I noticed that not every boss drops a "boss soul". Also, so far all the bosses I've defeated gave very little in the way of souls. When Taurus Demon gave me only like 1000, I was pretty shocked. I remember Phalanx giving at least 10,000 in Demon's Souls. And yeah the fight against Taurus is MUCH easier if Oh and, quick question to those who've been playing since last week. Does the game get harder? I mean, I'm not complaining here, but the game is supposed to be harder than Demon's Soul but so far I find it's actually easier. So far the areas seem much smaller and the bosses seem kind of easier to dispatch.
  6. So, I was starting to think that maybe I had overleveled in the Undead Burg (was about soul level 15 when I beat Taurus Demon) because I sort of breezed through Undead Parish and Darkroot Garden and while every boss so far has killed me at least once or twice, none of them were much of a challenge once I started figuring them out. I'm now level 25 and after clearing Darkroot Garden I decide to head down to Darkroot Basin, which presented two paths. First I went down, beat the knight relatively easy, then headed in the cave and lit the bonfire. In the back was an elevator that looked just like the one in the Firelink Shrine, so I figured I could make my way back there from here. I hop on and it takes me down to a new area, where I am greeted by Needless to say, I got the fuck outta there. So I head the other way, which brings me to a clearing with So now I'm at a loss as to where I should go. Somehow, I feel like this is the game's way of telling me "Don't get cocky, asshole! You're still my bitch!"
  7. So, I had fun playing FFXIII when it came out and am definitely planning on picking up XIII-2 at some point. But I just watched a seven minutes trailer on IGN, and.... wow. Looks like we're in for one hell of a stupid story. http://www.ign.com/videos/2011/10/13/final-fantasy-xiii-2-new-adventures-trailer?objectid=97872
  8. Oh what the fucking hell did I just watch?!??
  9. Yeah I'm a pyromancer too, but for some reason my fireball doesn't do THAT much damage so him. The fucker always manages to hit me once, and then hit me again before I can get back up! Aw shit, just talking about it makes me wanna go back and try again
  10. So, I killed the Taurus Demon yesterday after some grinding in the Undead Burg. Today I grinded a bit more to raise my endurance and then my dex to equip a box and get the Drake Sword. I was actually surprised to be able to equip it right away, so now I feel like a complete badass with my Drake Sword and full set of chain mail. I head on proudly to the Undead Parish and... proceed to get raped by the knight at the top of the tower at the entrance ... I love this game
  11. Shit, you know what? I read that and realized I don't even remember where Ezio was when we left him.
  12. Woke up and a friend had sent me this link. http://us.akinator.com/ UNCANNY! The fucker gets it right pretty much every single time! Only time he didn't, I sorta "cheated".

Hah! I took him all the way to 32 questions with Pearl Fey though.

I took him through 38 questions with Wolverine.

Nice. It got George Harrison right. Though, I was sort of stumped as to what to answer when it asked, "Is your character the lead singer of a band?"

  13. A year of PlayStation Plus, which got me Costume Quest for free, though I guess that doesn't count as a purchase. I did grab Resident Evil Code Veronica X HD, though, because I'm pretty sure the PS+ 50% discount ends today.
  14. Honestly, so far I feel like it's as ugly as Demon's Souls. Maybe slightly better, and it's definitely more colorful. But the first time you can look into the distance at some faraway mountain or whatever, it looks blurry as hell.
  15. So everything was going relatively fine, I even managed to kill an overpowered enemy by climbing on a roof and throwing all my firebombs at him and then electrifying my axe and jumping down at him to deliver the final blow. Then I got killed by an even stronger fucker wielding what looked like a giant horn, and I died by falling off a cliff before I could regain my lost souls. At that point I burst out laughing and turned off the game.
  16. Fuck yeah! My copy of the game finally arrived! LET THE PUNISHMENT BEGIN!
  17. Just saw the new trailer for The Avengers. That was pretty awesome!

I feel like there are more characters in this team than there needs to be. I think the actors and characters make such big personalities on their own that we don't need Black Widow or Hawkeye. Thor, Hulk, Cap, Iron Man and Nick Fury are probably all the characters the film really needs. There's plenty of potential with just those.

Funny, I feel like the team isn't a very good Avengers team and needs another big player. Original New Avengers team (with The Sentry) ftw!

Yeah I kinda wish the Spidey rights would revert to Marvel already...

  18. I finished at about 3 hours and 51 minutes, so I got that "under 4 hours" trophy. Truthfully, it probably took me nearly 6 hours given how the last section is one continuous survival trial until the boss. That and the stupid water tower section. I can't imagine how one can complete the game in under two hours. Yeah, I probably played it for closer to 8 hours when accounting for the times I got stuck and quit the game without saving since I'd made no progress in some time . Then again, it probably would've been under 4 hours if I'd simply returned to the main menu instead of picking continue whenever I died. Under 2 hours, though? That is crazy.
  19. Oh, Steam is an option. I just prefer getting those kinds of games on my PS3. It's really just a personal preference. Same reason I held off on buying Braid until it came out on PSN and also why I bought Limbo on PS3 even though it was 5 bucks cheaper on Steam. Besides, if in a year or so it still isn't on PS3, then I'll just get it on Steam for like 2$ during a sale. No big loss.
  20. You got a point there... Not sure if that's a good sign or a bad sign, though. If it's not timed exclusivity, then I can't help but wonder what the holdup is. Might be they're just not planning a PSN release
  21. Well I'm kind of on a roll. Just beat Limbo. Which is probably for the best seeing as I'll very likely be getting my copy of Dark Souls tomorrow, and I don't think I'll be playing anything else until Arkham City. Anyway, I don't know if there was 15$ worth of content in it, but I loved the hell out of it. Now to wait a year until (fingers crossed) Bastion also makes the jump to PSN.
  22. True, but I'm assuming that your save is only for ME1? In which case, there's the interactive comic thing to recreate your decisions, which is admittedly not the same as an actual playthrough, but it's better than nothing. Though I can't really vouch for it or anything since I've yet to see what it's actually like. Wait, so rebuying the game was less troubles than just going through his collection one box at a time?
  23. Ico. Wow. Just... wow. I already mentioned how it was much better than I expected it to be, but now that it's over, what an amazing game. It's even more mind-boggling when you realize that it's nothing more than a 5 hours escort mission. I'm really glad I decided to play it first instead of jumping straight into Shadow of the Colossus. The only complaint I have is that it can get a bit annoying waiting around because of how slow Yorda is when you need her to climb ladders.
  24. Yeah, I get that. But considering ME3 is like 6 months away, I think the PS3 version is as close to a GOTY as we're gonna get.
  25. Resident Evil 4. I first beat it years ago on the gamecube, but it's been so long that I'm counting it anyway. Still have that Separate Ways Ada side-mission thing to beat, though. That wasn't in the version I played before. Oh and replaying this really made it that much clearer that RE5 was completely devoid of any creativity. And don't get me wrong, I actually liked RE5. I wasn't one of the haters. But it's like RE5 spent too much energy trying to recreate the big set pieces of RE4 without ever trying to be its own thing. I mean, RE4 truly feels like a Resident Evil game : monsters that grow eyes where there shouldn't be any, crazy transformations that result in large creepy arms with claws, etc... Even stuff like the door of a room automatically locking right after a boss drops right in front of you. That's a classic Resident Evil moment. None of that was really present in RE5. And then there's the fact that pretty much every boss fight in it was against the same shapeless, blob-like mass of black crap...
