I own a Vita and a 3DS and they've both been dormant under my bed for the last year. Hopefully with Gravity Rush 2 and Majora's Mask 3D on the way I'll have an excuse to get them out again.

I just can't get enough of video games man!!

I can't touch you guys in terms of number of games beaten, but this is the first time I've actively tracked what I beat and when I beat it. Not a bad tally I don't think, especially when coupled with the fact that I watched 200+ films. Believe it or not, I do have a job. I've noticed a serious lack of 3DS games on any of our lists, is this a trend or are we just the three guys who aren't interested in that system?

I'm somewhat stunned by the amount of love directed towards Shadow of Mordor. I mean, it was Okay I guess, but it seems to be garnering GOTY noms like they're going out of fashion. It's far from a bad game but It didn't hit the mark with me. The world is boring, the story is...well down right poor and the combat get's really repetitive really quickly. The one thing it's got going for it is it's much lauded Nemesis system, which admittedly brings a good amount to the game, but even that get's boring and tedious after a while. 'Hey I finally killed that annoying green bastard...aaaand now there's another annoying green bastard in his place'. Repeat until bored. Did I miss something?

Same. I got it on the Vita and it just didn't win me over. As for Super Time Force...no thanks. Interesting premise but f*ck that right off. The Steam sale finally got interesting.

I think you just described all the films featuring those guys as the main protagonists. Whatever, I enjoy their team-ups, I just think some people expected something truly different; and not another Rogan/Franco comedy. Those are pretty hit and miss with folk.

Fill me with confidence as I've been meaning to play that since it went gold a few months back. As for my GOTY it's a real tough one. I don't have a stand out, and three of the games that immediately come to mind are either re-releases or games that came out in 2012/13 (GTA 5, The Last of Us, Wind Waker HD). I've probably put more time into Destiny than almost any other game this year, but I just can't make that my choice as, all things considered....I don't think I think it's a terribly good game. Addictive? Yeah, but i had serious issues with that game from start to finish. Counterspy is a fairly simplistic game, but it's got a fantastic aesthetic and really grabbed me in the time I spent with it, I'm just not comfortably attaching it to my GOTY list, it'll probably make the top 3 though. I just wish the game had more reply value aside from trying to beat your point tally. Fun though, you should definitely take a look (also available on iOS I believe). Mario Kart 8? Had some fantastic weeks with that game, even though I rarely ever played competitive multiplayer. Maybe if I had some friends to play it with it'd nab my vote, it's a fantastic little game for sure, but I've not played it in a few months (for the reason above - no one wants to play with me . ) **I've still got Bayonetta 2 to play through, and Endless Legend seems like it might appeal to me too (not played yet either). Gun to my head? My Game of the Year is GTA 5. It's been a bad year.

4th Annual PXOD Secret Santa Thank Yous
danielpholt replied to TheMightyEthan's topic in Event Planning
I don't know who got me these (and apparently Steam doesn't give me an avenue to find out after the fact), but whoever you are, thank you. -
Still playing and enjoying GTA 5 in short bursts of a few hours here and there. I'm beginning to mainline the main missions however, because I can feel myself losing interest in the games mechanics, that and I've got a bucket load of games to play on PC and Wii U. Serious question, how many of you actually enjoyed the various activities in GTA? I played a few rounds of Tennis and just didn't enjoy it. Same with a few of the other activities and less..interesting tasks.

Also bring tissues. That film broke me.

4th Annual PXOD Secret Santa! -- Targets Assigned

Hey, I know I'm a little late for this, but if you guys need one more to round it out to 18, sign me up. -
Snowpiercer Really enjoyable film here, but unfortunately it gets a bit bogged down in its final act. That aside, certainly one of the more enjoyable new releases this year. Great cast, interesting setting and some very nice shots. Shame about the somewhat iffy CGI but that didn't ruin it for me.

Had it on pre-order, but Amazon fucked up, so I was planning on grabbing it from work this morning. However I caught my parents watching my brothers copy last night, and all of a sudden I've lost all urge to revisit it.

You're forgetting that Ethan doesn't like fun.

We should be were expecting to be playing it around now weren't we? The game's shaping up to be fantastic, I just hope people aren't expecting Polish Skyrim..

Maybe a review? I'm not sure if it's worth me picking the game up. I enjoy CIV, but...do I really need to spend £30 to get 'Civ in Space'...

I think the events of Tuesday night (See Hot Heart's post above) have ruined Destiny for me. I've not been on it since (longest streak since launch day), and I can't summon any motivation to play it. I might just be done... It's not that I didn't enjoy myself to some degree, I'm just asking myself 'Why would I do this..AGAIN, for another armour upgrade', that part of the game has lost me, and that's basically what Destiny is. I'll probably jump back in when the expansions hit; but for now I think I'm over Destiny.

Watched Panic Room the other night and..she's actually good; enjoyable almost. I was amazed. My last good film: Carnage. I greatly under appreciated comedy. One of my favourites from the last 5 years for sure.

I've got a non-PXOD friend to hop in with us. He's beaten the early stages of VoG so he should be a worthy addition.

I'm still running with one character, although I'm really tempted to start playing as a Titan for a while; although I worry that with Bayonetta 2 and a few other games about to hit, I won't get a chance to play it that character up-to a worthwhile level. Also I finally got level 2 Vanguard stature. I don't know how it took me so long (I do - Patrol missions are boring).

She was solid in Adventureland and that film with Emile Hirsch when he goes and lives in the forest for a bit before he dies (no idea on the name - It's about that Supertramp fellow).

I have serious reservations about calling K Stewart a 'Bankable Star'. I don't dislike her as an actress, but I really don't think she's capable of drawing in a massive crowd.
