  1. With SoulCalibur V, the game really focuses on using an arcade stick. The games have always done the whole "A B K G" layout, but this time I feel like they put more effort into making combat moves reliant on arcade format. But I don't play a lot of fighters, so I could never justify having an arcade stick of any kind laying around. Almost got the TvsC stick though, but decided against it.
  2. So I've been reading that there's going to be a "surprise" for Steam users when the Creation Kit for Skyrim is out. First DLC perhaps? Free horse armor?

      Sweet roll armor pack.

I'd rather see updated textures than shadows. The shadows don't bother me, the textures do.

After seeing some screenies I definitely agree about the shadows.

  3. Honestly, if I had to relive today repeatedly like in "Groundhog Day," I would have begun committing suicide earlier because of having to finish my history research paper tonight.

But if the day kept repeating, you'd never have to hand in the paper.

  4. The challenge is to be the last one alive in a free-for-all (like every Twisted Metal), but it seemed like the A.I. didn't know how to act around other A.I. I'm guessing as soon as the player comes near, the programming tells it, "Oh hey, there's a target!" I'm hoping at least in the demo this is the problem. I really want to be online because humans think like humans, thus the opportunity for more balance. Though I bet there are gonna be times where people gang up on someone for whatever reason there is to gang up on a player. EDIT: Okay, I played more single player and this was the result. After 4 minutes, I caused 365 points of damage. The highest amount after me was 65 and the lowest was 16. The online multiplayer better be fixed soon...
  5. I have, but I haven't been able to get in the online multiplayer. Kinda was the whole point of downloading the demo. The single player part of the demo is kinda lame. Not the content, but it's almost like the A.I. gangs up on you. For the first five tries, I would always die first, but I noticed I always caused the most damage. I watched the the A.I. cars barely attacked one another. I jump into the fray and I've got two (or maybe three) cars after me. Not to mention controls take some time to get a handle on.
  6. I didn't think February was going to be that game heavy. I already have SCV, but there's also The Darkness II, Syndicate, Twisted Metal, and Asura's Wrath. Not sure about Syndicate, but I have found memories of Twisted Metal games. I remember me and a few of my high school friends going through most of TM: Black one afternoon.

I thought your icon looked like a parrot for some time. Also I haven't played Twisted Metal in probably 10 years. Old School that game is.

I can see that now. Twisted Metal is definitely old school. The demo's controls "Classic TM" feel waaaaaay goofy. Like, I don't honestly remember using the right analog stick to reverse. So weird.

Haha, yeah, used to only control with the D-pad in the original. I'd like to try playing that mess again. That game was tons of fun multiplayer though.

  7. If you want SoulCalibur V, go to Namco's online store and use "carls" to get $10 off. I went to Carl's Jr. today and saw this on my cup. I already have the game, so yeah.
  8. If you don't recognize the style, for shame!
  9. I'll link here. Basically, it's a two-handed weapon that uses one-handed perks and has a default of 10 for Absorb Health. However, you an upgrade that amount by killing friendly NPCs to an amount of 30.
  10. Oh yeah, got SoulCalibur V in the mail! I'm one of three people I know who got this instead of FFXIII-2!

  11. I've wanted to buy the Blu-rays, but once they lowered in price, all the episodes were on Netflix too.
  12. Ah crap, I just learned about the Ebony Blade. I know I can use console commands or even "Dead Thrall," but I had the perfect opportunity last night.
  13. Heard about this today; looked it up and began laughing.
  14. Wow... I logged on to tell about how my roommates and their friend stormed into the apartment at 4:30am last night, kept tripping over objects and falling into walls. Once stable, blasted some horrible music they found on television while one of them tried to take a shower. Once I finally was able to sleep again, I woke up to a room temperature of 84 degrees (F). This has happened before and the "logic" behind it is, "Why get a blanket when the whole place can be toasty?"
  15. Hmm, I would say this thread is in need of a revival! I don't believe I need to link to a specific article (though I will if need be), but how do you guys feel about the 1999 Mode? EDIT: Just so you don't have to search across the vast seas of the Internet.
  16. As for my previous comment, yeah, it's like standard game progression. The potential drawback though is how the normal combat will play out. Think of a game like Force Unleashed II. Cool moves, but repetitive given the lack of variation. I doubt the boss battles will be repetitive because the QTEs will offer more dynamic scenes. That's the other thing about Asura's Wrath: the boss battles provide plot progression and other dialogue. I doubt we're going to get a lot of that in the standard gameplay.
  17. I still refer back to the fact sheet when it was revealed. If it's still true, the Wii U will by default be flash memory, but it was said there would be external HDD functionality.
  18. GameTrailers has a preview which shows a bit more of the story and the non-boss gameplay. The demo I think was trying to emphasis the magnitude the game can achieve when we're dealing with these Deity Guardians. Of course, I'm concerned that the pacing might just be: big battle -> small enemies in a linear fashion -> single tough enemy -> a few more small enemies -> big battle
  19. Got to play a lot more of Gotham City Impostors. I regret wasting an an Unlock on a weapon, but after my first match I didn't know how the rest of the game would play. Now I've spent the rest of my Unlocks for a pretty deadly combination.

  20. That people like to listen to music because it sounds good to them. WHERE DID THIS SORCERY COME FROM?!
  21. Oh no, my world has been shattered by a single article about a typical discussion on music theory. What will I ever do. Woe is me. Etc, and so forth.
  22. I'd post my own image, but I'm so frickin' lazy tonight.
  23. It would appear there's more to Asura's Wrath than fighting with other deities. LIKE STARING AT GRAVITY DEFYING BREASTS!
  24. Play one match of Gotham Imposters; unable to join another match after 30 minutes.

That game, from the beta seems to have the most dissapointing fun to connecting ratio.

Of the three hours I've had the Beta, I've played about four matches. Matchmaking seriously sucks.

I was in the PC beta, and was never once able to join a game.
