  1. Word of Advice: If you ever want to watch Talking Dead (live segment after Walking Dead), skip it if the Executive Producer is on. If he's not pleasuring himself, he's making awful jokes.

  2. As far as what you're saying W&S...
  3. As for Kelly feeding your fish, I looked it up and it's where you have dinner with her in your room. After recruiting team members, you can begin flirting with her to a point where she would like to have dinner. I thought for sure this would lead to a relationship, which it could, so I decided the "Me Too" option to get to know her later. Wouldn't have mattered for me since I prolonged the crew's rescue by building up team's loyalty. If you don't head for the Omega 4 Relay when prompted earlier, she and most of the human Normandy crew will be liquified. Meh.
  4. ...except you would be using the touch pad during those games and it's turned off when in other controller modes. Did you even play any games or just dink around in the menus? Yeah I played games, while I tried my best to hold the thing without goofing around with the touchpad much. So it's turned off for other modes, but might be a problem still for when it's active. Maybe I can chalk it up to the device being tethered to a long metal security/charging cable for being weighted and awkward to handle. Not like I'm discounting the possibility of owning one; that's for my wallet to decide.
  5. I tried a Vita at Best Buy a few days ago. Concern: Like in the Ashens video, the way I hold handhelds is that my fingers tend to cover the back of the handheld. There's the touch pad though and I would figure that's going to cause problems with games that utilize it. Not to mention the buttons and analog layout are awkward in my hands. I would press X just to nudge the right analog. It's not like I can just grip the thing by the very edges as it's not exactly a light device either.
  6. I got myself one of those helmet DLC packs for Mass Effect 2. Most everything will transfer over to ME3, that is, except for all your ship models! (Oh no, my collection!) I wore the Death Mask for the latter half of the game, but to be frank, helmets that cover the majority of your face make the whole customization aspect of Shepard moot. Sure it looked cool, but it might as well have been Default Shepard. The Capacitor Helmet, what I wore for my last two hours, is a nice balance. The only visor in-game wouldn't cover my right ear making it look goofy.
  7. That one game known as "Mass Effect 2." Did everything, even Arrival, except for a few Anomaly assignments. I already reached Lv. 30 so what would be the point? I always intended my first playthrough to be my "Me" character. I don't have enough time to try out alternate classes and go all Renegade. I maxed out the Paragon bar, but have like a quarter Renegade. I also fell like I wasted money on fish. You pretty much have to feed them after every mission. I thought I could take care of them after the first time they died, but things started to pick up and next thing you know I have about 20,000 credits wasted. Of course, even so I doubt I would have had enough credits to get every single upgrade. Probably could have tried to get "5/5" rather than "7/7" on a few.
  8. Doing my best to complete Mass Effect 2 in time for the upcoming installment. I ran into a few bugs last night; the frustration! Question: Did assignments from Mass Effect (1) affect Mass Effect 2? I ask this because I didn't respond "properly" to the "Packages for Ish" so the assignment will never grey out, even though I got my rewards and "Ish's thanks." I'm not too concerned, but I can already see how some of my major choices will affect my "enlistment" of other species. Seriously, the whole time during Legion's loyalty mission the "rewriting is wrong" paragon choice changes to "yeah, let's rewrite them!" I decided to blow them up because, as the game kept telling me, the heretics made a choice to follow the Reapers. Even though geth are machines, I'm still altering conscious thought.
  9. Been playing Mass Effect 2 a lot. My original goal was to stay loyal to Ash, but Tali got to me! Besides, kinda hard to connect with a character I only know about through a comic and brief conversation.

  10. Leaked image confirming American Revolution setting. Interestingly though, the character appears to have Native American influences, so perhaps the character himself isn't a colonist, or that the Assassins of the the North American continent are Native Americans. If you haven't seen it, look it up!

Yes. That's why you should give him gigantic eyes to match.

  12. Oh, I should also mention that once you finish the game (personally or an actual 100%), Asura's Wrath could be considered as an anime box set as you're allowed to view the game as episodes of a series. It makes a lot of sense since that's the format CyberConnect2 was aiming for. EDIT: Scratch that... I double checked and it's only the interlude segments. I guess you would miss out on a few things that were player oriented too.
  13. Having finished the game (89%), I'll write down my thoughts. Actually, they're pretty much the same, but I would put greater emphasis on how the story is really great. If you're into anime, it's not that far off in presentation as the folks at CyberConnect2 are huge fans of manga and anime. They're the ones that do the latest Naruto fighting games for PS3 and 360. Anyway, the common issue people will probably take with the game is exactly how much is interactive, and in what way. Asura's Wrath is definitely a cinematic experience for half the time, where as a quarter of it is QTE interactive and the rest is linear-based combat progression. I was initially worried that the game would become formulaic in gameplay, but it has interesting twists and turns based around the story. Again, with presentation it's amazingly unique and gorgeous. The music and illustrations are all superb and contribute greatly to the atmosphere of Asian mythology and technology. I'll get into the problems though. You can read my last post about the pacing. I know IGN suggested that maybe Asura's Wrath could have been a downloadable episodic game. That seems like a good idea, but there are 18 episodes along with the true 18th episode you'll need to unlock. At what rate would it be distributed, and would any of the latter episodes see success? I believe naturally that you'll need to take a break as going through the whole game in one sitting, which seems possible, would actually be pretty exhausting given how much information you would have to take in and the energy spent fighting, whether through QTEs or directly. If you consider yourself a good gamer, you'll probably unlock the true 18th episode right away, but it's essentially the hardest part of the game over again. It's why I relaxed a bit before having to face the final boss again. The controls work great, and I love the unique moves Asura uses on his enemies, but there is one hitch: The Burst. "Burst" will either trigger another scene, or you'll actually have to attack the enemy first before progressing. That seems confusing, but what I mean by it is that a few times when I achieved Burst, there was actually a window of time I needed to reach the enemy. Asura will automatically run towards the enemy, but if they're a boss and are still standing, they'll probably teleport away from you. In the final boss battle, it took me till the 5th time to defeat the boss. Two times to familiarize myself with its moves, but the next two times I failed because the distance between me and the boss was too long. As such, the boss would move out of the way and pretty much kill me because if a Burst fails, your Burst Gauge loses a little progress which means you have to fight a little longer. Kinda a problem when a Burst can be the deciding factor between success or defeat. I don't regret having purchased this game for $50, but this isn't going to be everyone's cup of tea. QTEs don't exactly have a solid reputation, but to me the QTEs seem fair in Asura's Wrath. You'll have enough time to react and it doesn't mean automatic failure if you miss one. Sometimes you may have to start a sequence over, but other times your "Synchronize Rating" is lowered. You have to experience the game, so definitely rent it. It could go down in price soon and I like having it in my library because of how unique it is in presentation and story. Of course, if you just want to play as an angry, angry, angry demigod, still rent.
  14. Finished Asura's Wrath. I'll need to relax a bit before given my final impressions. Very stressful final boss.

Damn, already? Is it that short or did you just play it a lot?

I sorta played it a lot as I was really engrossed with the story. If you're a skilled enough gamer, it can be finished in (I would say) seven hours. However, you're probably going to want to take a break between episodes. More in the Asura's Wrath thread.

  15. I wasn't trying to end up in the middle, but after reaching the fifth page I predicted I was going to end up near the middle. A lot of back and forth between questions, and every time I take these tests I end up around the middle. I remember back in my high school American Government class when I first took one of these tests I was on the line between Authoritarian and Libertarian, but two squares to the Left. EDIT: Of course, it would have been nice to be in the middle so I could post this.
  16. Ate at Taco Bell; didn't win a Vita. :'(

  17. So close! I guess I'm in the same quadrant as everyone so far... but not by much...
  18. Double Post, but Pokemon related! I know I've gone off before about how amazing Kari Fry is, but she's still amazing! http://karifry.com
  19. The only people someone should be doing a proxy baptism for are 1) relatives, and 2) those who's relatives have given permission, which yeah, can be rather difficult. I can't say what portion thinks what, but you'll either get people who don't care given they think it won't do anything, religiously or not, and those who are strictly opposed to it even though we're a "false" church. A little history on Atomsk88: I wasn't always Mormon, in fact for 17 years of my life I was Catholic. My father's side of the family was as Catholic as it could be; most of my ancestors being priests and nuns meaning usually a single brother or sister would have kids while the rest committed their lives to the Catholic Church. So when one of my uncles who converted did a proxy baptism for my grandfather, my grandmother was upset, but I think mainly because her Catholic family had turned 90% Mormon and 5% Unaffiliated.
  20. As a Mormon, I can tell you. It's not the Church itself, but individuals (as written in the article) who submit a name for a proxy baptism. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Baptism_for_the_dead You can look through the Wiki article to see the details, but it comes down to allowing souls into the Kingdom of God. See, unlike all other sects of Christianity, Latter-day Saints believe you can be baptized even after you've passed away. The problem is that it's not regulated and famous people, like say Abraham Lincoln, have been done multiple times. Of course, people who want to baptize Jewish people are entirely unaware of how big a problem it is in the Jewish faith. The article itself mentions: "Negotiations between Mormon and Jewish leaders led to a 1995 agreement for the church to stop the posthumous baptism of all Jews, except in the case of direct ancestors of Mormons, but Radkey says she found that some Mormons had failed to adhere to the agreement." So, really, it comes down to salvation and members of my Church being ridiculous.
  21. Slightly off-topic, but isn't kinda weird how Graveler evolves into a reptilian rock monster?
  22. My opinion... TL;DR: Definitely rent this for the story and visuals, perhaps even own it once it's $30. I'm definitely glad I'm playing this because it really is like no other game, but it still has its problems. The pacing is rather odd due to how it's set up in an "anime episode" progression. That wouldn't be bad so long as each episode wasn't that quick. I mean, if you think about it, it's like watching an anime marathon. It's a game so you want to dedicate a good amount of time to it, but all the recaps and flashbacks are not going to seem that necessary. I haven't finished the game, but Asura's Wrath is an interesting mix of anime and video games. If anyone wants to follow down this path again, I would add more "video game" to the mix.
  23. Viz Media is searching the Web of all Naruto scans as now Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece have been removed from Manga Fox. Time to find another site...
  24. It's like asking about the social masks people put on, or for a more relevant example, how people are online as opposed to offline. It's a very valid question, especially for Christians. Anyone who believes in an Almighty God must also recognize that He is all-knowing. You can not hide your actions from Him, no matter how sly you are to hide it from your fellow man. Anyone can go to church on Sunday and act like the perfect role model, but what they do in their own privacy speaks louder about their character than what others see on a given day.
