  1. That's really cool, though I must admit that I'm having trouble looking away from her boobs. I think I might have a problem.
  2. I'm torn about stuff like that. Waterboarding is bad and we shouldn't do it, and I'm glad it was revealed that we do it, but at the same time I recognize that you can't have your government employees (especially those in the military and intelligence) substituting their own judgement about what should and should not be kept secret for that of their superiors. Ultimately, while maybe there ought to be prosecutions of those responsible for the program as well, I think it's probably right to prosecute Kiriakou. At the very least we need those people to know that there are serious consequences for breaking security, and so if you decide it needs to be done it had better be for a good enough reason that you're willing to go to prison over it.
  3. Move Champions is MUCH better. Only has table tennis and disc golf in the demo, when what I really wanted to try was archery, but it shows real promise. I actually had legitimate fun playing table tennis.
  4. Just got a Move Friday, and so far my experience with it has been pretty terrible. Didn't play it much over the weekend, but I did play some LBP2 (the game it came with) and thought it added nothing to the experience. I would have been better off playing with a regular controller. Also tried the Tiger Woods 12 and Topspin 4 demos that came on the demo disc and had really bad experiences (granted they're 3rd party, but they are on the demo disc). Tiger Woods was bad because nothing I did had any affect on the game: no matter how I swung every shot was perfect, including the put that I accidentally made while I was playing with turning the move to aim. Didn't even swing, just turned the Move, the game decided I'd swung, and it sank perfectly. Topspin was terrible because it was unresponsive but in a different way: it only recognized a forward swing, even when my character on the screen would have been backhanding (if I backhanded it just wouldn't do anything at all) and about 1/5 of the time even if I swung forward it wouldn't register it. Getting ready to try Sports Champions and see how that goes.
  5. The only earbuds I've ever found comfortable are the origin iPod headphones. Even the new iPod one's don't fit right. I think I have freak ears.
  6. One reason I think they probably need such a high markup is because of the low attach rate with the "casual" market they're targeting. If you can't sell more than 2 or 3 games for each console you're not making that profit and need to make it up in the console itself.
  7. Yeah, any era where the guards/police/military have ready access to rapid-fire guns (ie shoot more than once a minute) is going to seriously fuck up the gameplay mechanics that have been established. I'm wondering how they're going to deal with the modern segments.
  8. From what I saw on Joystiq the reason he didn't like WWII and feudal Japan is that they've been covered so thoroughly in games already, and Egypt would be too much like the settings they've already used.
  9. I'll probably get it eventually, but I'm not super sure I'll enjoy it since I don't tend to like things where "it's hard" is a selling point so I'll probably wait for good deal on it. Also, semi-related to that, is that games releasing later on PC automatically reduces the price I'm willing to pay for them. I absolutely will not pay more than what the console version is selling for, and for games coming out six months or more later the console version could have decreased in price dramatically.
  10. I definitely thought the fighting in City was better. Once I did all the challenges in City I still wanted more game so I went back to do the challenges in Asylum (I just ignored them back when I played that game cause normally I don't like that type of mode) and it just didn't feel like the flow was as good as it was in City. Even after I readjusted to the different controls.
  11. System service exception is pretty general, but it CAN be a ram problem. What I would do is take out the 3 sticks that aren't blocked by the CPU and run memtest again. If it comes up clean then add one back and run it again. Just keep swapping out the second stick and running memtest until you find the problem stick. Hopefully it won't be the one that's blocked and you won't have to remove that at all.
  12. I would like to see them make a Catwoman game actually, I think they could do a good job of it. I really liked that she actually played differently than Batman, wasn't just a reskin with some missing abilities or something. You're totally right about the camera, but as for the encounters I can see where you're coming from but I don't personally find it bothersome. The fights are so smooth and satisfying that I don't mind them going on forever.
  13. They didn't say they failed at that part, just that it was stupid and they hated it and stopped playing. I remember that part from my playthrough too, and while I didn't think it was hard I did think it was irritating. @Strangelove: Yeah, that's kinda how I felt. I enjoyed playing it a lot, even though I was let down by the lack of side stuff available.
  14. One advantage of watching movies in a language you don't understand (with subtitles, of course) is that it makes it much more difficult to notice bad acting.
  15. Quick googling makes it appear that there's no way to change it. http://www.gamefaqs.com/boards/960564-xenoblade-chronicles/62466427
  16. Whenever I try that it seems that they remain still until the very instant I line up my crosshairs on their head, at which point they start moving again. It's like they're psychic (which they very well might be).
  17. In my experience Page Fault in Non Paged Area is a RAM issue. I've never actually had memtest turn up a problem for me before, even when I know my RAM is bad (ie getting BSODs with a specific stick in, but not with any other sticks). Best bet to trouble shoot it is to switch out your RAM sticks and see if the problem persists on all of them or just one.
  18. I leave voice off unless I'm playing with people I know.
  19. @Dean: I didn't say how long they'd hang around, just that they'd arise during the cycle. And I used 50 million years instead of 1.5 billion because the Reapers don't glass the planet, they just harvest the civilization. It would probably take chimps a lot less than 50 million years to replace us. Even if we divide that number by 100 to account for all the ways that a civilization could get fucked up before reaching that point, it's still 3000 with my numbers, 60 with yours. The point wasn't the specific number anyway, it was just that more civilizations would continue to arise even with the Reapers doing their thing.
  20. Yeah, I'm not opposed to the idea of it either, my only problem with it is how wide a net they cast. *Edit* - In terms of the offenses included, that is.
  21. The problem with trying to refine the system is that any attempt to remove any crimes from the registries or soften any of the penalties is met with cries of "he's trying to protect pedophiles!"
